Default Oil Leak

I read over some other threads about oil leaks but I think mine is a little different. I have an 04 automatic with 52k miles. I dont think its called an oil pan, but the shield under the car is covered in engine oil and theres oil spray all over the engine and components. Last oil change i noticed the filter was a little loose but its tight now, and theres a big mess under the hood.

Im guessing its a valve thats loosened? Im not sure about my warranty but ill have to take it in tommorow anyways.

Check the O rings on the filter.

I just checked the o rings, nothing out of the ordinary. I dont understand why you need 2.5nm or whatever to tighten the filter. Mine tightens until the plastic cap touches the metal fitting and you cannot possible tighten it anymore.

Just ordered 4 of the Mann oil filters from BenzAutoParts.com for $58.56 (free shipping).

Cheapest price locally was a Mercedes dealership $28 each....Chrysler $32-35 each.

Anyone ever order the Mann air filters from them....looks like $24.47 for a box of 2?
