As much as Viper's speak for themselves in performance numbers... I don't like them. The older ones look cooler than the new ones. But they don't sound cool and they are massively expensive.

Massively expensive compared to what ? Crossfires and Mustangs? OK, goes without saying. Current Vipers are $89K USD, while similar performance cars cost far, far more (try getting 600HP from a Crossfire or 351C Mustang, ain't going to happen without dumping massive amounts of $$$$$ into them). Sounding cool is subjective, they don't sound like a V6 Crossfire or a V8 Mustang, nor will they ever because they have a V10 engine. Sorry, but it's an ambiguous statement.

I partially agree, I prefer the "original" styled Vipers more. But then that's probably why I purchased a 96 GTS. And even though nothing sounds like a big block V8 bellowing unfettered thru "storm drain sized" side pipes (listen to a 427 AC Cobra) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI6lk...next=1&index=8

I still kind of liked the way the V10 sounds with it's stock "rear exit" exhaust system.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP6kIpe3fcs
Dodge spent a ton of money "perfecting" the sound of the side exit exhaust on the newer Vipers, but I like the old rear exit sound better.
Still, I'd like to hear our V6 exhaling thru a nice set of headers and header "style" side pipes. With a "crossover" pipe installed, it might not sound too bad. Maybe it would get old after awhile as an everyday driver, but I bet it would make a hell-of-a-wail running wide open on a track. Maybe we can talk HDDP into a set for his race car.

that has to sound super sick. and as far as I know even running dumps are illegal, the exhaust has to exit behind the passenger compartment. But with an offroad h pipe, and dumps on my cobra, it was a head turner. An older guy at work used to drive next to me just to hear it.

They might make the car a little more fierce in appearance. Then again it might look like something off of MAD MAX as well.
