Zune / i Pod
FM transmitter is the cheapest/easiest/fastest.
You hear mixed reviews so be careful which model you buy. I have a Belkin iPod set up which is great but I did have a hissy piece of crap before that.

I have a Zune and tried a few FM transmitters. I could not find one that I liked that provided a nice, non-hissy sound. I ended up replacing my radio with a Sony that has an AUX port in the front. Sounds great and plus I have Blue Tooth to support my phone for hands free/music playing.
I got a Blaupunkt.... it was plug and play. I did it myself and took 20 min. No wire harness or anything. Just pulled the old radio out, unplugged it and plugged in the new radio. Crutchfield gave me all the keys and stuff needed. I got the London and payed 130 total for everything (I used a 20 dollar coupon code that you can find all over the net).
Only problem, the radio will not stay on the front aux jack. If I turn it off the radio resets to the radio. Very annoying but it may just be a setting I haven't figured out yet. If anyone knows, let me know.

Car Stereo Economics 101
Cheap Way Out
- buy FM Transmitter 1 (no good)
- buy "wired" FM modulator for FM Transmitter 1 (Still no good)
- spend hours researching a fix that does not involve replacing head unit (STILL no good)
- dollars spent with no result: $200
- buy new head unit with 3.5mm jack or iPod/Zune compatibility built-in
- total dollars spent - $400
Cheaper Way Out
- buy new head unit with 3.5mm jack or iPod/Zune compatibility built-in
- dollars spent/problem solved: starting at about $200
Don't waste your time and money on junk that's not going to solve the problem. Replace the head unit and save the old one for when you sell the car.

The front face matches the crossfire interior. The best $130 I ever spent in my life for the car. Plus you get to install it yourself and you will feel great for doing it!
