Name of Original battery???
Hello, Everyone--
I've owned my '05 limited for about 6 weeks now and considered replacing the battery now that the car is about 4 or 5 years old. A quick check under the hood informed me that the battery is an "Exact-Fit" brand. I'm assuming this is a replacement battery for I've seen this brand advertised at my local Merchants Tire and Auto. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure of the exact size off of the top of my head, but if you do a search, you'll find many different options, as far as brand. I have a svr yellow top due to audio upgrades, group 34 seems to come to mind. chris

Sandgrounder, I asked at Crappy Tire if they had a battery that fit the Xfire and I was told that they did not have one. I suppose he looked in the computer and it was blank, I did not bother to pursue it as I could see that I was dealing with a chump.
I wrote the thread on OEM battery replacement and I wanted to add a Can Tire battery if possible.
Could you answer a few questions so that I can add it to the thread?
It is the same size length x width x height Yes or No?
Does it require a spacer under the clamp?
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) ?
Cat # ?
Thanks

In your first post you said it was a series 4800 which would seem correct (#48 battery size) now you say its a 8400?
You say same spacer under clamp, do you mean the rubber pad that is snapped between the clamp wires, or there is a loose spacer?
The original just uses the attached pad.
I will add it to the list and maybe buy it myself as my battery was made in 2003, I may be hanging by a thread with it.

180,
typo should be - 10-4800-8
Spacer is the rubber pad between the clamp wires
yes replace it , hanging by a thread on QEW or 401 is not a good Idea
