I think you will find the dash is actually a film of a precolored material (vinyl?)that is molded to the shape of the dash, this is placed in a mold face down and a polyurethane foam is injected to the back of it. Some inserts, fasteners etc are molded in place, the foamed assembly is removed from the mold and you have your dash panel. Some trimming of the foam may be required along with adding any nameplates etc.

Hey,

Chris, the online swatch of the leather material would be great for what I have in mind. Your carbon fiber looks really cool too. What I want to do is, everywhere you have the carbon fiber, I want to cover in leather instead. I just didn't know if any body could do this or where I could get this material to do it. FP says an Auto Upholsteror could do it for me so I need to check that out. Anybody know how to remove all the silver pieces from the dash/center console? I know they move around slightly when I touch them but I do not want to force them in fear of breaking them. Does anybody also know where I could find leather material that Chris is talking about? Thanks!

-Sam
