As they say...pics or shenanigans!!
He got it running and then from what I could tell, got a new little toy so his SRT6SPD (SRT Six Speed) is being neglected and not used as much plus I think that guy is busier than a one legged man in an *ss kicking contest. The Motec EMS he used in that thing is sick.

man im dumb. i talked to a mercedes shop about my quest today. he says i will get more for my money with chip tuning and replacement parts from actual race brands like eddelbrock. stuff like fuel systems, valves and cams etc. all of which dont have sensors, so i can have the component of the computer shut off for each part as i get it. for example i get a race brand super charger. it has no sensors and i can have the air sensor to the computer detuned. he said ppl who want real race bread cars and wanna make projects out of it always just buy the base level of a car cuz the parts that are different between levels will just get replaced with the race brand ones anyway. like ppl who wanna make saleen mustangs just buy the mustang v6 cuz its all bein replaced. he said id get way more for way less with race brand parts and they can special order anything almost. so epic. i mean ppl on here know what theyre talkin about no doubt but this guy was a crazy expert on mercedes cars. german accent to boot. im just like... you are a better god than morgan freeman. as soon as i get the rest of my funds together, i will document this. but first. blow 1 grand this weekend in windsor for my 19th bday at casino and lots o bars with a good designated driver of my pride on 4 wheels.

Good luck with the intake, cams, and race brand supercharger. I think you better search Startech, Kleeman, and Renntech before you drop any cash anywhere. Or better yet search Needswings and TVT Design

I'd lose the entire drivetrain then. Go with something that has a TON of aftermarket parts for it and has a simple standalone EMS that is part of the package. Look at what guys that run the old hot rods use because from the sounds of it, you're gonna be tearing your engine out sooner or later to replace it so you might as well do it now while you can still sell it as running. Hopefully your car is a manual so you can put a different gearbox in there to handle all the HP you're planning on pushing through it and you might want to think about the rearend while you're under the car as well. I think you're in over your head but I'd love to see you make it happen. As far as buying anything from Edelbrock that will work on your car... Hah... Maybe a sticker or a shift **** but that's about it.

well, I think you had better do a lot and I mean a lot of reading thru the threads on here before disapointment sets in. There are only a few vendors doing anything with our cars, and you need to decide what or where you are headed with yours, meaning what kind of performance you want out of it. R&D on our cars is daily on here, you have make up your mind whom you will trust...but much of what you just said just isn't true, except the bars and DD....

1. Get a second job (or maybe A job).
2. Earn and SAVE some extra cash.
3. Buy an srt.

If you have the brains to actually take this advice you will also realize step 1 and 2 are your ticket to many things you would like to do in your life. Your head can save your hands a lot of work.

I usually don't agree with the buy an srt argument, but for this dude it'll be his best bet. If you don't want a stick, buy an srt.

I used to hate it when people said go buy and SRT... Absolutely hated it. But I will be the first to tell you after going through the trials of doing this that it's not worth it in a million years. Save your pennies and buy and SRT6. After what you put into this thing, it'll be the same or less than toughing it out for a year or two and trading up.

I feel the same way, Either get an SRT6 or do a complete drivetrain swap. Modifying the limited only gets you decent results at a high cost.

Such an amusing thread ... keep it going.

Although it seems to have very little to do with building an SRT6, it has much to do with a young man's misunderstanding of the value of money.

Hopefully he learns something, either way.

Spoken like a true adult.

Teck-9, I'd put that money into a NeedsWings intake and a TVT300 and put the rest towards your college education because your car might get you to your job a little faster with all the mods but it won't get you into a career that will pay the bills and give you some extra spending money to do this stuff later on in life.

Wow, 19 yo and driving a Crossfire. That ain't right! [yes, I am jealous.] I was cruising around in a 1974 Nova when I was 19 and I thought I was on top of the world. Currently saving my cash to buy a NA Crossfire coupe...coming summer 2010.

At age 19? I can't remeber back that far...oh ya, I was driving a 1964 Plymouth Fury Station Wagon. I had blacked out the windows with liquid tint from J.C. Whitney and painted it 'Vette Blaze Orange with chrome reverse wheels. Yikes!
