Default 2004 XFire

I would like to thank all the folks who provided feedback (positive as well as negative) on my inquiry on the purchase of a 2004 XFire. Right now I am waiting on a Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic car and negotiating a *fair price* with the sales manager. Hopefully I will be in my new XFire within two weeks.

I don't think you will be disappointed!!!

I just took mine on it's first road trip. I drove from Virginia Beach to Luray caverns, in your neck of the woods, (spent the night in Luray) and then south on Skyline drive to I64 and back home. What an awesome trip. The winding road (Skyline Drive) was a BLAST!!!

$34 even for a 6 speed.

Two dealers in the Baltimore area have been advertising them recently at around $1500 under MSRP.

Somebody on this board says CarMax in Atlanta has new ones (???) at $2600 under MSRP.

Hello,
This is my first post. I just took purchase of my car yesterday. It is a black 6 speed. I love it, I work at the headquarters and tech center in Auburn Hills, Mi. I have been seeing this car for the past one and a half to two years around the facility and now I have it. I also have a 85 Corvette. This car is already totally into my system. I would advise anyone considering this car to get one. Nothing offers all of the things that this car doesfor the price.

Okay, a few days ago i posted a question about rebates and cash so i would know what DC was offering BEFORE i went in to buy my new baby. I ordered it three months ago and i finally got the call it was in transit and would be here Dec 1.

Check this out...

Tuesday i descided on the 1st i would try to offer my sales guy $250 on the side if he would give me his employee choice golden ticket... Maybe that would be the best discount i could get....

Out of the blue, they called me yesturday and said it was here... One of my friends told me he saw CarMax was selling them at $2500.00 below MSRP... so i looked real quick before i went to the dealer.. and ill be damned... they have them for $32,809 for the SSB/Auto which is $700 less than INVOICE and a better deal than the 1% off the employee choice gives. They list a WHOLE page of them in stock. carmax.com btw

SO... i printed it off and took it with me... After confirming CarMax had it in stock, they matched the price.. AND then i sprung my $500 customer loyality token from DC and my $500 dealer loyality token from the dealer (this the third DC product i have purchased from them)

Bottom line

I paid the TT&L fees and financed $31,809.

Dont let anyone say it cant be done cuz i did it...

Oh... and heres a REAL funny part... it wasnt through make ready yet, so they gave me dinner for 4 at a very nice italian joint here in town AND i am driving around a pacifica so they can put my XFIRE in the show room for the 4 day weekend since they only have receivced 6 to date.

If it were mine I sure wouldn't leave it in their showroom for strangers to sit in and grope. I would tell the dealer to let the perspective customers sit in the Pacifica and show them pictures of the Crossfire..

I paid $35K for mine in the middle of October.

It was worth it!

Default great deal!

You worked out a really good deal on your car, great job!

This is the second time I've heard that CarMax has a relatively large quantity of these cars, being sold as new from what I gather, and selling at large discount.

I know that CarMax can be/is an authorized dealer for Toyota or Nissan (can't remember which), but how'd they get their hands on a quantity of new Crossfires?

I just bought a demo at Carmax. Black Auto........$29,880!!!!

It only had 19 miles on it. This was at the Carmax in Orlando. They currently have a Black 6-speed for $28,990.

Hi there guys,
Just a quick thought for you all to ponder over.
While it is great to get a good deal on anything from anybody, the downside is that market resale value will suffer from dealers making back bending deals on the new cars.
The British market suffers from this all the time. Some cars over here you can't give away second hand as the dealers are doing them for rediculous prices new.
So far, and I could be proved wrong about this, the Brit Chrysler dealers have all been told, no discounting! There is one price for the Auto and one for the Manual and that's it! Anyone caught selling below list won't hold their franchise for long.
Hopefully this, coupled with a very slow/restricted import of the Crossfire, will help to keep it a rarity that holds its value in the used market.
Time will tell.
As long as it doesn't become as common as the TT, I will be more than happy. They have become like belly buttons over here!

Default wow

I don't know that I'd consider a car with 19 miles on it a demo...

yeah, i thought about that.... but they said it wouldnt be ready till late today (friday), and they would only let people "look" at it like the Viper they have up there. no touch/drive. It was pretty cool seeing it right off the truck, had white sticker paper all over it and at first i thought it was the wrong one!

Im already missing it :-)

anyone know how carmax is getting tons and other places are waiting months for one?

i looked again this morning and they have easily 40 - 50 in stock in all thier stores combined.
