Default More Dealership Non-sense-- Crossfire Buyer special treatment?

Just bought a brand new jeep 3 weeks ago. Bring it back to the dealership I bought it from (windshield wiper switch is busted). Sales person and service department say they can't give a free car for the day. What is the deal with that? Started bitching about how Chrysler is nearly bankrupt... I said that has nothing to do with anything! I am a paying customer to the dealership and they should give me free rentals on the car until we get the initial defects fixed. They sold me a defective car.

I told them the dealership I bought my Crossfire from gave me tons of free rentals back in 2005. They claim it was because I bought a Crossfire and Chrysler gave special treatment to Crossfire buyers. Is this true?

I believe we were entitled to a premium loaner car as Crossfrie owners. That said the "premium" loaner I got was a PT Cruiser one time and a mid line sedan the other time. I didn't complain, was glad to have something to drive for the day. I guess the thing to keep in mind is all dealerships are different. There's one around my area that offers free service for the life of the car, some offer loaners, some don't. I always ask the salesman when I am inquiring about buying a car. My wife has an 04 Mercedes we bought used 2 years ago. The dealership is about an hour from us and they were great about loaners when the car was in for service. We'll I priced a service at my local Mercedes dealer, a 20 minute drive and it was a few bucks more but the service manager told me if I needed a loaner all I had to do was let him know so we have now switched dealerships for service only because of the distance involved. Like I said all dealers are different. I'd almost bet you could find another Jeep dealer who would give you a loaner.

True! Early Crossfires came with a Premium Care plan that provided loaner cars for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance or repairs (other than collision).

These dealerships do not understand there are other options out there, for some people there are not, but most within an hour drive have several options. They just ASSUME you HAVE to go there and they have you by the ***** - not true - they still need to be hungry for your business too...

I have never had a problem getting a loaner for my Crossfire, it is included in the MaxCare warranty.

Last year I bought an 08 RAM. There were some problems the first few weeks and the dealer was great about giving me a loaner.

It depends on the dealership.

As for the Crossfire, every dealership gives me a different story. Under the Max care they say the loaner is only available if the car needs to be there more than a day. Other dealerships automatically give me the loaner with no questions asked.

However, I did not know we were entitled to a loaner just for owning a Crossfire. While still under the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty, my old dealership would never give me a loaner. I was able to get rides so I never bothered.

I have been robbed! The dealership I used for years never gave me a loaner during the 3/36 warranty. I guess it is my fault for not reading the paperwork.
