Default road and track test

Anybody read this month's comparison between the turbo Audi TT Quatro and the 6 Speed Crossfire? The Xfire beats it by far in every performance category but one...dead heat in 0-60.

The Xfire is faster 0-80 and 0-100. .05 more g's on the skid. 3+ mph faster in the slalom (that's a huge difference). 5 ft less braking distance from 60, 13 from 80. Excellent brake rating vs Very good for the TT.

Their conclusion? One editor says the Audi is the better performance car...

Whaddya gonna do...

The Crossfire, while nominated did not make Car & Driver's top ten either, but the RX-8 and Infiniti G35 coupe did along with eight other "regular" cars. C&D mentioned in their initial Crossfire review that it could use more power, seemingly a major requirement for enthusist magazines. Wait until a more powerful model arrives for better results. Makes not a whit of difference to me as the Crossfire has more than enough power for my driving. I am quite familar with the RX-8 and the G-35 coupe, both very nice cars, but I chose to spend my money on the Crossfire and am very happy that I did. The Audi TT has been around for a while and is old news.

Those editors have no bias or anything  ... I have driven the turbo TT and it doesn't feel "quicker" in any way compared to the Crossfire. Oh well. Some people just don't want to give the Crossfire a chance... The only thing I can agree with on that review is that the interior is probably nicer, and there is more storage space... but only if you fold the rear seats down.

Another Classic review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He says the Audi TT is the better performance car with the crossfire more of a GT Tourer. Did He read the performance tests???. The Crossfire out performs the TT is every aspect??

Bloody idiots, at least if they as usual are going to pick something over the Crossfire, say its because of the overall package. The Crossfire is very clearly the better Performance car.

R&T BS--of course they would not put the Xfire in their ranking. They like the "mass" cars like RX8 and TT

I like how the 'performance' ratings Xfire kicks ***, but the 'subjective' ratings go to the TT--what a joke. Obviously Audi must advertise heavily in R&T.
