Road Hazards
Experienced my first Crossfire road hazard this morning. A cement truck had deposited most of it's load over a half-mile section of two lane. Fortunately it was on the opposite side of the road, but part of it extended over to my side of the road leaving wet cement and pebbles all over. I hugged the right side and slowed down and suffered no damage but it's an indictor of things to come.
I dread that first door ding or rock in the windshield but know it's coming even though I am very careful and park away from the crowd. But the Crossfire does gather attention and other parking cars seem to be drawn to it. A lady actually did a triple take this morning following the car with her eyes until I was out of sight.

I love my car, but the reaction from some people has been a bitc strange. As I was leaving a parking place Sunday p.m. a man came up and motioned me to stop. I did, and received a nice compliment on my "beautiful car." I thanked him and started to leave. He then asked entatively "Can I touch it?" Uh, sure. I then watched as he softly ran his hand along the front fender. Creepy.
Had my Crossfire for 7 months now...after awhile the gawking gets a little too much not to mention too distracting. I wear my sun glasses constantly to somewhat shield me of their animated admiration.

j/k man, you left yourself wide open for that one!
I had my SSB since 11/26 and got my first rock in the windshield 12/12. Passing a tractor trailer and saw something fly up. It was about an inch across and caught the left A (?) pillar. Two marks in the glass and a small chip in the plastic where the windshield meets the car. I expected worse from the sound of the impact.
If you are interested the plastic is not silver all the way through but white inside. Looks sort of like fiberglass. Will see if I can get touchup paint and then sort of coat it with clear nail polish.
Bring on the shopping carts and door dings.
Happy holidays.

Had my first windshield ding from a rock off a truck about a week after I got the car. Not really noticable to anyone but me. Glass guy says there is nothing they can do. I'm tempted to take a hammer to it and let "full glass" coverage deal with it.
Don't have any dings yet, but I have noticed a lot of hits in traffic. I guess its because the car sits low and the air flow over the hood.
My windshield has probrably been hit 10 times, but so far no nicks. The BBra seems to help - Been thinking of putting that clear plastic protection on the front and headlights.

I was continally puzzled as to why everyone was tailgating mec until it dawned on me: The X-Fire has no ***, so to speak. Drivers aren't any closer to the bumper than normal; it's just that the bumper is closer to you.

In another post I mentioned how a driving lite was cracked: $98 and unavailable, with no estimated date. Griot's has that clear protection.

So that WAS you!

I ntoiced the same thing. I was stopped at a light and thought the car behind was close until I looked in the reflection of a store window and noticed the he was about a half a car length away. My brother in law said the same thing when he drive it.
Later I was stopped at another light and was watching ther woman behind me take off her sunglasses and lean forward of her steering wheel to read the name of the car.

Got hit by about 1/2 a ton of grit tonight.
Council must be using up their budget to send out a road gritter at 6p.m rushhour when the forecast is heavy rain.
Good news is paint does not seem damaged but what a nightmare, the names I shouted at the driver!

I took the Crossfire nameplate off... now they're really curious.
