Crossfire Headliner
My Crossfire headliner is starting to come loose on the passenger side near the windshield.
Have anyone else experienced this problem?
How much does it cost to fix???

Welcome to the club. Do a search and you will see this is a common problem. Pretty soon the whole thing will get worse and eventually fall down on you. The factory must have used bad glue and they didn't wrap the headliner around the edges properly so humidity could get in. Forget the dealer (unless it is covered under warraty).... Even if it is still under warranty I still suggest getting a local shop to do it for you. They will do a custom job and do it right! Cost me about 140. The guy who did it has been around 40 years (family run place). Said he never saw a headliner drop so fast on a new car.

By the way, the bodyshop may not have someone there to do it. Sometimes they outsource that kind of work. They told me who to call... said I could bring the car in but they would just bring it to their guy anyway. Turned out their guy was around the corner from my work.... dropped it off in the morning and had it back by lunch.
Mine came loose at the same place I had it replaced for $98.00 I got prices from 200 all the way down to 98.00 and the 98 is a lifetime warranty,( if they are still there for a lifetime) I also had them roll it over the edges as the factory one stops at the edge ,, that is one of the reasons it comes loose.. the new one looks great. jim
Hey Jim,
Mine has completely come down on the passenger side and it's only a matter of weeks before it probably comes down on the driver's side so please send me the info of the place that did yours so I can get this thing fixed once and for all.
Thanks...

Yes, I just noticed this problem with mine. I am the original owner and it has always been garage kept with minimal exposure to extreme heat. It looks like glue is failing along the front and right corner post. I have a friend with a very good auto body shop and will take it there to see if they can repair or recommend someone who can. I will post an update when I have more information.
Body shop highly recommended a person whom they send all of their interior work to. I went to see him. Foam under headliner material is deteriorating and as others here on the forum describe, the whole headliner will eventually come down. It will be in the shop one day. All old foam removed, new glued in. New headliner installed. $250. Shop is located near Oswego, IL for the people in Elburn and Joliet, IL. Just got another glowing review about this guy. Scheduled to go in on 23rd.

I have replaced 2 headliners already and the cost is $28 for specific foam backed cloth on EBAY and $13 for the 3M spray glue for this cloth replacement. An hour to take out the liner and remove old backing foam.......and 30 mins to put back in. All in $41 and less than 2 hours for a DIY.

All in all, if your handy with a few tools and are able to remove yours, try asking a few local body shops and see who they sub to for headliner work. I did, took mine out, and they covered it in a short period of time for $65 (plus a material tax, which was low.) see post 25 here ( https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...r-removal.html ). There is a pretty good start-to-stop throughout the post that MIGHT help you if you go this route. Good luck!

I used a putty knife and just scraped it off. it ***** up into rolls and then can be removed after each pass across the liner. Just be careful not to dig into the hard backing.
