Not What I Expected For $35,000...

Fortunately with 2400 miles in 5 months I've not experienced the first gear problem with my 6 speed.
But I agree, this is not a small issue for those having the problem, and DC should/must step up. We don't know that the problem will not manifest itself a bit later for those of us so who have yet to experience it.

Purchased my Crossfire from Family Chrysler in Chadds Ford, PA. Dealership has been magnificent! This is the fourth Chrysler product I've purchased from Family in the last four years. I would purchase Yugo's from them! BTW, they are 50 miles from my house.
Hey AJ,
Tell your service guy to call Brendan (the service manager) at Tuttle Click Chrysler Jeep in Irvine, California. Brendan and the guys know all about the gear problem...they walked it through with DCX on mine.

diane,
Thanks a lot... you just read my mind. I was going to ask you were you had the work done so my dealer could touch bases with yours. #002815 goes in Friday for the first phase, adjust the gearbox.

Hello,
Believe me , DCX is very concerned about customer satisfaction. Dr Wolfgand Bernhard , the COO of the company and the person that I have heard as being the one who pushed for the Crossfire to be built, made quite an impressive display at the recent gathering at the Pontiac Silverdome. They are pushing for world class in every catagory and most of the dealerships are catching on too. I recently purchased my car (11-20-03) at the Southfield, Mi. dealership that Pat Kittles (our brother member) was formerly working and they made me feel what I can only guess a Ferrari owner would feel like. They introduced me to the tech that has received the training on the car and he was very helpful. Anyone having problems should either notify DC or find another dealer. I am sure that they will find one that wants to do proper business.

Update #2
Well Gang, today 's the day.
#2815 goes to the shop for the popping out of 1 st gear problem that I've been having!!! I really don't know what they are going to do. All they said was, "we have what we need to fix it". After doing some research and alot of input from folks on this board (THANKS), I found out DC supposedly has a kit to fix it. From what I can gather... they are no longer replacing the transmission like they did on a few cars early-on, when this topic first came up.
BTW... it "has not" popped out of gear since last Sunday. It never fails does it? When you get ready to take a car in for a problem, it seems to go away untill you get it back and the dealer tells you they could not duplicate it.
I have my fingers crossed, wish me luck...

Update #3
Hey Gang,
The fist gear popping out of gear problem has returned after the dealer looked at it 15 days and 700 miles ago.
I'll post the details on the Tech Forum as not to be OT here...
One pissed off unhappy Xfire owner...

Southfield seems like a great dealership. When the PT Cruiser first came out and dealerships had to cancel orders, I got one from them in less than three months (when the normal waiting time for my area in St. Louis was 13 months!!!). I would trust them with any car you have. I think they are one of the largest Chrysler dealers in the U.S.

I took #2815 to the dealer yesterday afternoon. The owner of the dealership is supposed to drive it for a "few" days to try and duplicate the problem. Got to the dealership and the first thing they noticed was a large bolt/screw sticking out of the drivers side rear tire. They said it will take a week to get the tire in. So there it sits still waiting.......
Not a very good first month of ownwership. Sorry for the downbeat posts but this car just doesn't seem to want to get along with me.
Yes that's a bummer AZ, a new car and unable to drive it. When I bought mine I looked over a selection of eight Crossfires wondering which one would be trouble. So far I made the right choice as mine has been rock solid and trouble free. Hopefully they will get yours sorted out. I bought a new Camero once, worst POS imaginable. Rest assured your Crossfire is no Camero.

Went by the dealership earlier this morning and saw #2815 just sitting there by the shop wall. No ETA on the tire. On the brighter side, they have yet to duplicate the transmission problem but... "In the intrest of customer goodwill," they are going to swap out the transmission which should be in tomorrow.
Check my post on "New Tires" in the Tech section.
