coolant expansion tank issue
Good morning,I have searched the forum with no success on my issue. I have an '06 coupe 20k miles and whilst detailing the car I noticed what seems to be a sensor wire come adrift from the underside of the black plastic coolant expansion tank area.
The sensor (I presume that is a sensor) wire is a thin double wire with an inch long soldered tip coming from a black plastic connector. I noticed that the underneath of the coolant tank has a collared recepticle that the the loose wire/connector sort of fits into, albeit not a very snug fit, so I pushed it in. I idled the engine to check that the fan cuts in and it did.
Any thoughts? Should I worry?
Your advice would be appreciated
Enjoy your day and thanks for this great forum
Russ
Someone MAY have removed the tank to service the pass. side headlight and failed to replace the coolant level sensor connector.
thanks for your advice.
I found the service manual on the forum and looked for the diagram for this area and it showed that a grommet is missing that holds the sensor in place
