This year....117 in a 55....he hit me with laser and reset...by that time he had me at 87 ...he asked me how fast you going I said around 80 he wrote me for 80...said the car looks real pretty when the front end drops that fast.

80 in a 55 no talking here he gave me the ticket with out a discussion...kinda wierd like his mouth was glued shut.

No current safety sticker in work truck what can I say didn't check it going into the new year, changing to normal truck plates as I don't haul boats over 10,000 anymore.

LOL, for most HS kids that may hold true, but I had a modified 325i BMW when this happened (I was 17). I do not want any crap from people saying I am spoiled, because I started shoveling driveways and cutting grass when I was like 12 and got a real job as soon as I was able around 14 and bought myself a (used) BMW when I turned 16. I have ALWAYS been a 'car guy'.

It's okay to admit you're spoiled rotten I know I was. My family wasn't super rich but I got whatever I wanted (in reason). I took care of my things though and have always known the value of a dollar. (probably the most important thing you can learn). BTW I started working when I was 15 and haven't stopped . Do you still have the 325? My first car was totalled when someone failed to yield and tried to turn in front of me. Knock on wood it's the only real accident I've ever been in.

Last February, 2nd day having the XF back on the road I was nailed doing 70 in 55 and cost me $235. May, got a ticket in my Kia doing 81 in 65 and it cost me $175. Last month, got a ticket in the Kia doing 81 in 65 and I have a hearing in January. Three tickets in 18 months and suspended license. But, first ticket was never reported to Albany so not on my record. Last ticket I mistakenly handed cop the registration for the XF and he never noticed, wrote me driving a black XF when I was driving a white Kia Amanti.

If a warning chime from your crossfire would be helpful to let you know when your speed is approaching ticket levels especially on our interstates you can have your CPU speed warning chime turned on by a DRB III. The chime is either on or off. Our cars come from Germany with the chime deactivated. All it takes is one click from the DRB III & you will be notified at 75 MPH by the chime. No other speed choice is avail. at least not on the 06 model. The chime will keep sounding til you back off to 74 or lower. Not an annoying chime if your serious about being notified you've reached what will be an expensive level of speed. It sounds like the normal chimes that sometimes come from within our cars. Of course not for those who can't resist the temptation to punch it. I know, what is a crossfire for anyway!!

In case a warning chime from our Crossfires would be something you wanted on your car especially at interstate speeds to let you know your well within the expensive side of speeding you can have your CPU enabled to turn this chime on automatically. It requires the use of a DRB III. One click will activate this feature however it will only cause a chime from 75 MPH & above. Anything under that & no chime. There is no other speed choice avail. at lease not on the 2006. Our cars come from Germany with this feature deactivated. Of course we understand this is not for those who like to punch it. I know what is a Crossfire for anyway!!

I really try not to excessively speed as the car seems to be a giant magnet...I'll stick to 5mph over, there is nowhere I'm going that I need to get there two minutes faster.[/quote] I concur.. I was stopped in town here while driving my Crossfire, I was going about 25 mph. The officer -- no rookie-- said to me as he looked in my window " I'm sorry I thought your plates were expired" I had just put the plates on that day.

Been too many to count. Worst getting caught was 97 in a 55. Wrote it for sixty and said don't open any more beers 'till your at school. Times have changed.
Here in Nevada, if you're not weaving in and out, the road is pretty straight and flat, and your car isn't a beater, you're not going to jail for anything under 120. However, even ten over is going to cost hundreds, and thirty over is going to run 4 figures.

In IN, the law is 26mph or over, we can file reckless driving along with the speeding citation. It is not a jailable offense, but can be an expensive citation...especially if you are under 21. An insurance carrier can cancel your insurance for such an offense....now, I never speed....lol
There is a charge that would be jailable...reckless endangerment...you would really have to be doing something really stupid for this to happen....like fleeing, which is another charge...

I speed all the damn time. I NEVER drive the speed limit.

Sure, I have had speeding tickets - two in my life (and I'm 49).

Don't any of you know HOW to speed and get away with it?

Maybe I should post my "Police Radar" diatribe...

If anybody wants an alarm to go off when you're travelling too fast in the Crossfire, just pull the fuse on your spoiler. An alarm will sound off at 95 mph. That's for those of you who don't want it going off everytime you hit 75mph. (Which for me, would be everytime I get on the expressway).

No speeding ticket - yet - but I have been pulled over twice for no front plate.
Fortunately, WI just changed that law this year & we're no longer required to show one.

WOW Kurt, what a "Progressive" state WI. must be. That's great news.
I'm surprised Ohio doesn't make us bolt a license plate in the center of both doors!....Oh crap.....I hope I didn't just give them any ideas.

Hey Mike.... Gotta hate those speed cameras in Germany. I got one in the mail when I lived in Stuttgart, and didn't even realize that I had been caught. When I got it in the mail, it had a pic of my face, and a pic of my license plate. I can't remember now how much it was, but they were nice enough to provide a return envelope to remit the payment. LOL!

LOL! Economics, +fire, simple economics.
At least that means I don't have to pull over for cops who, after they tell me they're gonna give me a warning, then proceed to inform me that I have a great looking car.

Take it from me, I know... Gotta slow down on those GTG trips.
Especially if you're traveling with guys like Rcompart, Valky, MisterTaz, and Rob (NeedsWings).
Those guys are crazy.....
But we were sure having some fun for quite awhile before you got busted..
