Jacking up car from front?
Jacking up car from front?
I'm getting a clunking sound from both front wheels when the steering wheel is close to lock-out so I want to try tightening some suspension or steering parts, hopefully that's the only problem but I can't see a spot to place my lift.
Does a spot exist or do I have to do one side at a time? if it's one side at a time then I'll have nowhere to place my jack stand because the lift will be in the way.
What to do, what to do???

Re: Jacking up car from front?
I'm hoping someone will chime in here with a better method. I jack on the rear jack point until the front is high enough and put the jackstand on the front jacking point. Where the control arms attach to the underbody can be used for the jack stands too but my car has some cross bracing that makes it tricky. If you jack on the front jack point and put the stand under anywhere under the car I would use a block of wood on top of the stand to spread the load better. For the back I jack on the pumpkin. I don't think it's recommended on any IRS so I get the car up and get the stands under it asap and drop it on the stands.

If you jack on one of the front side jack points high enough, both front wheels will come up.
Did I mention JACK STANDS for safety?
