Default Are the crossfires quick enough?

I wonder how are cars would stack up against the new Genesis coupe.

The Genesis v6 automatic coupe is supposed to run a 14.1. sec, 1/4 mile. The Manual is faster also, I believe the tuborcharged 4 cylinder will give a v6 NA car a run for its money as well,

the 4 cyl turbo I believe is only 200 horses. Their 6's are pushing 312. The Genesis does weigh in at 400 more then ours

Same designer; Eric Stoddard

The Genesis is built for theAmerican driver, geared lower for fast driving at our mundane highway speeds. Priced fo rthe young street race crowd.
In truth our NA Crossfires are not street racers, or drag racers. While the SRT's are hot they too are not designed to be built up as street or drag strip racers. Some guys have done a good job of pressing the envelope. But getting a 13 second car to 11 seconds (a 15% improvement) takes a lot of money and tinkering and hopefully the electronics don't get in the way.
That's because the SRT6 is trick/tuned up already.

A decent big block Chevy or Ford can do that with half the mods.

I haven't seen what the Genisis crowd has been able to cook up. Give them a year or two and the tuners will have them racking 13's, maybe even low ones, in the NAs. The car also handles well and if you are into drifting, it is easier to get it to cooperate. Try doing it in your Crossy. Almost imposssible, even with the trac control off.

Our NA Crossfires are just SLK's with a fancy skin. Not exactly the burnout king down at the Dairyqueen.

Thats just because you haven't seen me do a serious burnout to break in a fresh set of tires .

I find my NA SE roadster has all the power and handling to meet my needs. I have owned SHelby and 426C Plymouth. There was no place to use the power. I have the same problem with my Triumph Rocket3. The Crossfire is a joy to drive, look at and polish. 2006 in new condition. No corrosion anywhere. Gary.
