Smile Another Newbie!! AT LAST!!

Hi Guys and Girls

At long last they have started to allow new members which is great. Bought an 07 Crossfire Coupe BLACK in Nov 09 and have been dying to join since. Im in Hertfordshire, UK.

Firstly I have to say many thanks to all of you for the wealth of information on here which has been very nice to read and very helpful too!

Bought my baby with 14K miles for just shy of £12K and have not looked back since. Have loved every second of it and have no regrets! Needless to say I stumbled on this site while looking for the car and you guys helped immensely with my decision and what to look out for. This was the third car I looked at and went with my checklist of what to look out for and this was just the best I could find and I knocked £2K off the price too.

Looking forward to interacting with you all and having some fun! Some pics below for you all. Although not very arty

Cheers
Matt

There were about 50,000 Crossfires brought into the USA, any idea how many in the UK? (out of the original 76,048 that were buildt).

Welcome to the forum! I bet driving the car over there with all of the twisty roads and higher speed highways is amazing. Higher speeds, better turns, AND better road conditions(potholes, etc.)- very jealous!

Not sure Chris will have a look for you, I know 07 was one of the lowest production years before they stopped making them. Plate number 57 which is Aug 07 to Feb 08 is the latest plate you can buy according to my reasearch when buying, but they seemed to be mainly roadsters on the later 57 plate.

Green - it's about $18,100, not sure if thats in line with you guys but I knocked £2000.00 off ($3K) from the list price what with the recession here no one wants to buy a 3.2ltr car with petrol at around £1.14 per Ltr ($1.72) so I had good bargaining power. Still not seen one cheaper and were 3 months along. It was this or a Mazda RX8 properly jacked up to the highest performance or the BMW Z4, but the crossfire piddled all over both of them in my books.

Xfire - yep it's great however did not drive it for 2 months Dec and Jan due to the snow! made up for it this weekend gone, drove to Wales 6.5 hours of 110mph along the motorway and then a nice ride through the country lanes. CANT WAIT TILL THE SUMMER ......SCOTLAND here I come!!! Dont be fooled though the roads are full of loose stones and potholes this time of year and all you hear is Chip Chip Chip as you drive, and each one makes my heart sink!

Hi Matt, another Brit joins the ranks.

Scotland is a great place for a driving holiday. I can recommend driving the west coast upto Oban. If you venture further north, the road into Ullapool is fantastic too. Scotland is driving Nirvana with very few speed camera.

I do fancy organising a Euro Tour taking in Switzerland, Monaco and France. Have done this a few years ago and its a great driving holiday.

Thanks all for the big welcome! Must be strange for you all seeing new ones after such a long time LOL!!

Hi Bazzer

Where are you in the UK? Yea Scotland is on my to do list once the weather breaks. Europe sounds good but would have to choose the timing right for work and things. To be honest driving in Britain is just as good. Ive driven to Switzerland, Belgum and Holland (all be it in a VW Polo LOL) and to be honest the drives here are just as good especially up north!

Do you go to any of the meets like at the Ace Cafe there was one today apparently. I only found out later today when I realised I could finally log on here and in looking saw the meet. Otherwise I would have braved it!

Hi mate,

I'm in Suffolk not far from Ipswich. Regards meets, I will attend some this year (haven't attended any yet) but gave the ACE Cafe a miss today as I was in need of a lay in and had things to do. Been busy selling stuff on Ebay.

The RX 8 was the forerunner for a bit, but then I saw how much of a steal the Crossfire was, then having read the reviews I realised not only would I have to spend a huge amount on Fuel but it drinks a litre of oil too every 4000 miles or so. My fear was that Im not one for stocking up on things and oil is not the thing to run out of!!! But the main reason is because there are just millions of RX8's I see them all the time especially after looking. Since owning the crossfire for 4 monthsI have seen just 2 others!!!

How much is petrol out there in the US? A tank here is about £55 ish ($83)

Premium gas here in Ohio is $2.79 / US Gallon. If my math is correct that comes to about 49 pence per litre.
