Default auto transmission problems '04

i have a 04 coupe with a peculiar transmission problem, when i shift from park to drive in will take about 3 to 4 seconds to engage. i will put it in reverse back out of my driveway then put it in drive wait 3 or 4 seconds(no gas)and it wil engage, i drive off with no further problem until i put it back into park. we thought a tranny service would solve it, nothing doing. anyone have a similar problem and posibley solved it or know of a fix for this. thanks

Have you considered taking it to a tranny shop? Could be electrical from the shifter input going to the transmission control module. My best guess since you have had it serviced. That was my first option.

Is it really 3-4 full seconds, or are you possibly exaggerating? I ask only because maybe a sprint boost may solve your problem.

I have something similar in that when I back up and then put the car into drive if the car hasn't fully stopped it will not engage. Seems normal due to the electronics and that the shifter is not a direct linkage.

I have to agree with AIG , mine does the same thing if I don't come to a complete stop before shifting to DRIVE
