Default Looking at a black '06 on ebay

Hopeing someone here was familiar with the car. It looks great in the pics with 22,000 miles. 6 speed of course . The owner said it may need front tires soon, but thats not a big deal. Is the black paint as durable as the other colors? I looked at a blue 05 here in town but the front looked like it had taken a beating with 70,000 miles. Anyway, excited about the car and any input would be great. Oh, its a base model(which I like with the blacked out trim)

Welcome to the Forum ,,, Normally I would not recomend a BLACK crossfire you really need a AREO BLUE ONE they are faster ,but even if you get a black one you will still be getting a car that will give you a grinn everytime you get behind the wheel and the paint on these cars seems to hold up really well with proper care ,,there are several Beautiful black crossfires here on the forum (DON'T TELL THEM YOU HEARD ME SAY THAT) they will get the big head and start rambling about how their car is the fastest color

good luck with your purchase and have fun

Howard.

Howard, come on now.......... Just go ahead and get you a black one so you will quit obsessing over them. Don't be in denial...... You know absolutely, positevily that black is the fastest. And yes, the paint properly maintained is very durable.

Howard, this pic is just for you. I know it will brighten your day.

As an owner that beats on his '07 base coupe with currently 31,000-ish miles on it, who also drives it year round, even in the snow, I can say that you more than likely will not be disappointed with the coupe you're looking at. I would check it out before you buy it and see how it runs, go through the steps you would with any used car purchase, but base coupes are possibly the most fun XF's: none of that autostick nonsense that the SRT's have to deal with, none of the electronics problems (i.e. the heated seats) that the limited's have to deal with, just pure base fun.

My Crossfire was listed on ebay, and the owner pulled it when we worked out a deal. He had a stipulation that he had it listed on CraigsList and locally. If he sold it through either of those channels he could pull the ebay listing. I am not sure of the details as I have never listed a car on ebay, but it can be done.
