Cool Gear Lever Removal Advice Request

I have a 2004 Coupe Auto and am trying to remove the gear lever to replace with a newer model. Is anyone able to offer any advice please? Thanks

First put the car in D and turn engine off and set brake.

The bottom section of the **** screws off. You may have to use a gripper or something similar to turn it. DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF TOOL, it is very easy to damage. Once the bottom section is loose from the main ****, simply pull straight up, sometimes very very hard.

I have tried two different aftermarket *****, both needed to be drilled deeper to fit properly.
