Default TSB out for POPPING OUT of FIRST GEAR

Just came out today....TSB #21-002-04 2004 Crossfire -Symptom: The vehicle operator may experiance trans disengagement from first gear during normal acceleration.
This bulletin applies to vehicles with a manual trans. with trans serial #716.64x through and including 716.67x built on or before Dec.31 2003. Applies to a small amount of Crossfires.
The fix is to install a new first gear synchronizer kit. I will post this in the TSB section.I'm happy DC is addressing issues with this car.

Thanks for the update!!! This isn't the same fix they tried prior to swapping out the transmission is it??? Glad they owned up to it... I guess it got too expensive for DC to keep swapping them out....

Default question

I got mine a few days ago and wonder if what I'm feeling when going from first gear to second is what you're referring to. It seems like I need to put more pressure on the gas than the other gears or it will jerk. If I'm on the right track, could you tell me where to find that number you referred to so I can approach this intelligently. I sure do appreciate your help. I didn't have anything to compare it to since the one I bought is the only one I drove and I thought it was kinda weird going from first gear to second but without anything to compare it to I just let it go until I read your post. Please advise me,,,thanks a million.
Christine

Fitbiz,

Nope. What you are experiencing is the "Normal" transition from 1st to 2nd. Its a bit chucky. See the "Technical and Modification" forum for a string on that.

This issue is the car dropping into neutral from 1st gear about 1/2 to 3/4 the way through an intersection. You're moving along, then "BANG" (audiably) and you are in neutral rev'ing the engine instead of moving in 1st Gear. Obviously, this was a serious safety issue. (There is also an extensive post in that other forum too).
