Default Crossfire Special Edition - Non-Roadster?

Saw this on ebay - a 2005 hardtop with rollbars, different leather seats and a "Special Edition" plague from Karmann. Is this factory or someone's project car?

Ebay Item number: 180465130486

Chrysler : Crossfire: eBay Motors (item 180465130486 end time Jun-03-10 12:09:11 PDT)

NO THIS CAR IS "NOT" A FACTORY "SPEACIAL EDITION" MODEL.BUT IT IS A NICE FIXED UP BASE MODEL.I THINK THE PLAQUE WAS MADE UP TO GIVE IT A NICE TOUCH.THE SPECIAL EDITION MODEL ONLY CAME IN THE COLOR RED AND ONLY IN A ROADSTER.

I'm very confused about the glovebox. Anyone else have one like that? Mine is nothing like that.

Changed in '07 - glovebox door is smaller due to knee airbags.

That would make sense why mine looks nothing like that and is half the size.

Love the roll over bars, where can you get them and are they easy to fit?

Fake plaque.
Others have put the roll bars in their coupes before.
Engine cover was painted.

I love the hoops as well BUT, this car must have something not working in it's favor. i'm pretty sure I started a thread over this same car months ago and months ago.

I'd say what's not working is the advertised price they're asking for it. You can find Limited Crossfires, or even an SRT6 (sometimes) for that price.
But then none of those cars will be "SPECIAL EDITION" models, now would they.

I have an SE Roadster. I am unable to find out how many made. I read 140 on a German forum but nothing to back it up. Anyone know how many? Thanks, Gary

I found some mentions on this page that the special edition was only in red and only the roadster, However, this car is for sale and appears to be legit.
Not a fan of the absurd striping on the body and rims, but it does have the Special Edition badge on the rear with Karmann. Does anyone here have more knowledge about the special editions?

Thank you. I spoke to the seller and apparently he liked a lot of striping, and he put vinyl all over the car. Thankfully it's removable. It's not a legit Special Edition. Am I right in thinking SEs were only available in red as well?

Yes, 2007 and 2008 model years, had cloth seats and black surround and trim and srt-6 style wheels.

If it’s the same one on the autolist link, VIN features “N”

SRT not SE
