any regrets on crossfire
What I like the most:
1) the stares!
2) everybody looks and just KNOWS it fast
What I'm not so keen on (really picking nits here):
1) at 6'0", could use a touch more headroom
2) the radio unit seems sub-par for this price vehicle (fade is nice though)
3) no powered delay on the homelink
4) brake dust on front rims
5) a touch more HP is needed
6) a cargo cover should be standard
7) needs another cupholder for the significant other
other than 1 (which I get around with seat position), all fixable.
not the most expensive car I've ever had (4-Runner Limited), but definately the most fun. this car is turning me into an enthusiast, rather than just a driver.

There is something to the "grass is always greener" theory, it's happened here on this forum as we have lost members to other manufacturers.
I imagine a few 350Z & RX-8 owners have had second thoughts also and wish they had bought a Crossfire, probably a few have.
As for me, I do my research, know myself and my likes and dislikes and my motivation. I am 100% happy with my Crossfire and intend a long term relationship.

A brand new fully loaded 1973 Ford Mustang Mach I.
It was REALLY horrible in the snow, by the way!
Sky Blue with black interior, of course.
Sticker price was $4.4K. Bought it for $4K. I was working 2 jobs to pay for that car.....
351 cu in V-8 Cleveland engine. I think I was getting 12 mpg. But then I was buying gas for about $0.15 per gal.
It ran like a scalded dog. But the body fell apart after 5 years - a Ford problem of the time.
I still remember telling the owner of the dealership, a friend of the family, that my main complaint about the car was that the steering wheel blocked the speedometer between 115 and 125!
I think I still have a picture of it. If I can find it, I will scan it and post it in my album.
God this makes me sound old..... Glad I now own a Crossfire, because I feel 19 again!

I bought a new 1969 Mustang "Fastback" with the 351, beautiful burgendy with a black interior. Babied that car for five years then sold it to a kid who totaled it within two weeks. Broke my heart. One of the few cars I wish I still had.

My other car I wish I still owned was a '77 Datsun 280Z... at least I owned it for seven years before I had to sell it. You guessed it, got re-assigned to Japan again!!!

No Regrets here.
Its the perfect car for me.
I do wish the interior was more metal instead of plastic but it still is way nicer than any jap or US car Ive seen. The leather is great. I wish the stereo was MP3 compatible also.

Do I regret buying my Crossfire? NO not at the momment BUT
Don't get me wrong the car gets a lot of attention here in the UK and gets people talking to me about it. The big problem I have is Chrysler. They seem to screw me and everone else up. I believe that the Crossfire could have been a very special car if only DC/DCUK did things better such as:
A more unique interior - Lets face it, it's got a smell of the 90's
Put a boot cover in the car - How hard could it have been?
Giving me the luggage (DCUK) - Why not?
Lower price (DCUK) - By about ’4000
Advertising (DCUK) - A nice advert without Celion Dion
A metal folding roof for the drop top - Would have sold not like the one there gonna sell
A smaller engine for the Cheap Crossfires planned - Needed to stop it blending in with ours.
A better designed SRT - Need I say more
So when I come to sell it I belive the I will regret buying my Crossfire and getting sucked in by all the hype DC made about the Crossfire.
That me point (sorry for any spelling or grammer mistakes)

To Krusty:
I have one more crazy than yours. A few years ago, the wife and I decided to start riding bikes again for exercise. I still had my 3 speed Huffy that I got for X-mas when I was 14 in my dad's garage. I tore it all down and did a complete clean and restore to it. It is all original, except, I could not find the chain guard, and it needed new tubes and tires. It still rides great after 36 years!
We ride all the time in the summer.
Oh, and I found a couple of slides of the 73 Mach I. I will get them printed and post them next week.

To Mark_UK:
I can understand where you are at, but if the interior was all done up and included all the latest gadgets, and the roof was a metal fold down, it would be priced like a high end M/B, which would probably keep a high percentage of the current owners out of the vehicle.
I looked at the new Cadillac with all those features, and it costs $80K+ and I assume that if Lincoln decides to make the Mark X, it will be in a similar price range. Those kinds of prices are simply out of the question for me to use as a daily driving vehicle.
Now you not getting the luggage just sucks. And I could not agree more with you about the lack of and pitiful advertising for this vehicle.
As far as the "stripped down" model, I think several people are getting way too fired up about it. I would think it would have different badging on it, which will keep our cars intact. Whenever you look up a used vehicle's value, there are always different values based on the model type (ES,RS, RT, XLT, etc), so why should our cars be any different?
If you trade every two years, you are really taking a beating anyway, since all the heavy depreciation occurs in years 1 and 2. I tend to keep my cars for at least 5 years, and unless D/C discontinues the vehicle all together, I don't see the problem.
Actually, if that happens, I may take mine out of service, and put it in storage. Does anyone have any idea what mint Edsel would be worth today?
That is my take on the current events.

Vegas,
Folks beating us up for our disappointment about it's sinking value, and positioning it as an 'Investment' issue aren't getting it.
When we move on to our next cars...WHENEVER that is, we all would like to get as much for our current car as possible.
The fact is, in Baltimore today a dealer advertised in the paper NEW Crossfires for $27,800. Yup, $27.8.
Forget about resale value, how are you feeling about paying whatever you paid for your car, knowing it can now be had for $27K and some change?
We all KNOW our cars will depreciate, I'm just disappointed that this has happend so quickly, and so disproportionate to the usual new auto depreciation.
About small...well I've got a Lotus Elise ordered, and it's smaller than a Miata...so that's not an issue for me either.

I did not mean to "beat you up". Quite the opposite. I feel everyone should be happy with whatever it is they are driving. The question was "Any Regrets" and I simply posted my not having any regrets.
As far as others being able to buy the same car for far less - of course I'm disappointed - who would not be. But....I have had fun in this car and if I spent my whole life stressing over what someone else paid for something I bought - or what the person next to me at work is making, my life would be miserable. The fact that they might make more (or less) and may have paid less (or more) does not affect my life whatsoever.
So....all I am doing is answering the question of this post and I'll say it again. I have no regrets about buying the Crossfire. I am loving it - and enjoying this forum. Everyone must do what is right for them.
