Exactly... Should I get upset cuz the guy next to me on the plane paid $400 for his round trip ticket, and I paid $700? There's a lot of things to stress about... stressing that somebody got a better deal than I did ain't worth it... can't roll back time.

And I'm having more fun in this car than any of the dozen or so I've had since my 74 Camaro LT.

David.... You hit the nail square on the head!

It's all about the "Fun Factor" and personal preference. For me the fun factor is so high that I more than likely would have paid more than I did.

As is true with any "nitch" car...... Price is only a factor in, as much as, it's what you can afford to pay. Not what the car costs. If you can afford the price and the fun factor is there, then buy it and have a blast.

If the fun factor isn't there for you and you think you ("you" being anyone... Not addressed at any one person) paid too much then get rid of it and find the car that's right for you.

Fair enough Wes, a reasoned way to look at things differently.

I have decided to get rid of the car this week, for a number of reasons. I will miss it in some respects, but all in all it's not for me right now.

On the up side, if I'm RIGHT about the sinking value, I may be able to buy a low mileage used one towards the end of the year in the low 20's...

Regrets you bet ya!! I waited with great anticipation for this car.I went to the dealer every month waiting for its arrival. I was very excited to have a opportunity to buy a really different very rare car.Yes I said very rare you see I was told that only 10000 would be produced with 3500 going over seas.So if I wanted one I needed to act fast. And all of the hype in the car rags confIrmed its rarity. So I had no problem paying full price. Now 6 months later I can find one easily for under 30k. Since I have only 1400 miles on my car and it spends alot of time at the dealer for repairs I am very dissapointed I feel like a sucker

I am sorry, but I just don't get this!

This continual worrying about the current price of a Crossfire is driving some of you crazy. And trying to calculate how a new unavailable model will affect the price of your existing car just makes no sense to me.

Do you think about how the price of the computer you are sitting at has dropped, and the performance and capacity of the new systems is better by multiple factors? Do you then want to throw it out the window? Or do you just deal with it, and buy a new one, only when the current system becomes too expensive to repair, or your needs change and you need the increased performance? I thought so.....

Unless that sound I hear is your window crashing!!!

I am glad I bought my car. It is not 100% perfect, but like I said before, neither was any other car I ever bought. I really enjoy driving it every day, and plan to keep it for a long time.

If you don't have that feeling in your gut, then do what is right for you to get that feeling back!!

I love my crossfire it is a pleasure to drive and intersting to watch other people stare and or ask about it. It is my daily transportation so I don't care about how much mileage I put on it or what is happening price wise to the 2005's. I knew what it cost when I bought it and I was OK with it. I keep cars a long time (about 10 years) and woudn't have bought it if I didn't feel confident I could keep it for that length of time. Fortunately mine has given me no real problems and I am approaching the 12,000 mile mark

My only regret is getting it in the first place. I love the car, that's part of the problem. Only 3 weeks after getting the X-fire and the Element (both in my name) I am unexpectedly getting a divorce. I can't afford both cars. I can't even afford the whole mortgage by myself and will have to find roomates (someting I haven't had since college). Something will have to give and that's probably be the X-fire and every other non-neccessity. I'm gonna lose alot of money on the car.

I can't believe I went from the happiest I've ever been to the saddest in a single day.

Maybe a miracle will happen.

Wonderdallas - You are giving up the wrong vehicle!!!!

8) The Crossfire is a DUDE MAGNET!!! 8) You have to keep something that will help you smile and I bet you get a lot more smiles to the miles in your Crossfire than in your Element.

Good luck to you - I know you are not going thru a good time.

Take Care

Wonderdallas:

All I can say that I understand how you must feel. Had it happen to me too.

My advice, and I wish I had been given this at the start of my divorce:

Kick the bum out. Change the locks on the house today. Tomorrow, close the bank accounts and sell everything BUT the Crossfire and liquidate to cash. Bury the cash. Then get the meanest dirtiest divorce lawyer you can find.

When they ask what you did with all the money, just tell them you gave it to Billy Graham in a fit of despair....

It is a terrible time, but you will get through it. Then you will find someone that makes you as happy as you deserve to be.

I truly wish you all the best.

Good advice, but unfortunately I can't get a "real" divorce because I could never get a "real" marriage. So I can't lock him out. My only option is to buy out his interest in the house or risk losing my equity in a long drawn out process of selling. Either way I'm sorta screwed financially because I'll be upside-down in either car I sell. Every option feels like a punishment when I wasn't the one who messed it all up.

My friends and I have a motto we say in jest....a "whaddya gonna do"... that helps us explain the unexplainable....it's " Ah ****.... Right?"

Whatever, I'm lucky in so many ways....and I think I'll keep the Crossfire. I deserve to make atleast my commute a happy time.

Thanks all for the well wishes.
