Default Newbie idea and request

Being new maybe this has been done. In that case I apologize.
But after reading various ignition related problems that stranded users I was wondering if we could put together a list of preventative measure that could be taken to reduce the probability of this occuring in a vehicle that has not had any ignition problems.

What does the group think?

I've just got my first xfire a week ago and dont want to get stranded some place.

If you have ideas for items to replace at regular intervals or modify please add to this thread.

Thanks

Gary

I think doing a search on "mystery no start issue" will get you where you want to be. Problem with "search" functions is you have to know what the keyword is to search. The one we use at work is horrible so I understand the frustration.

Do the Relay Control Module fix and order a spare Crank Position Sensor.

That should keep you out of trouble for a while.

check for Sticky Ignition Key. this could leave you stranded as your key will not turn.

Ohhhh... Pat, you are one of those people

- Takes 10 min to sort through your keyring just to find the wrong one.
- Keys sticking out every which way because they are crammed on there
- Can't put them in your pocket, afraid of being poked or poke a hole in your jeans, leather seat, well just about anything

You only need 2 keys, maybe 3 if your garage has a different lock. (1) Car key, (1) house key
Everything else can be kept seperate

That's my philosophy. Car, Apt, and Garage keys only. Any other key needed is on one separate key ring (though there are several on there, crap)

if your car was made on Tue. Wed. or Thur you will be ok but for all the others built on Monday or Friday ,you can't have any extra keys on the keyring. patpur you are one of the luckly ones knock on wood quickly. jim
