I love the smell too, I wondered if it was just my car that smelled like crayons.
There has been controversy over the toxicity of this material, however I believe that has been corrected.

I use that Meguires leather cleaner and conditioner on my seats and entire dash and door panels. It not only looks great but gives the car that new car with leather smell. For the door panels and dash spray on the rag and apply to eliminate any streaks.

I thought that place went out of business, or at least closed for extensive remodeling. Our daughter and son in law live/work NYC. We just visited last month while it was still cool in the daytime. SEINFELD SHOW was always a hoot. Loved it. A show about nothing..

I'm not sure what materials it is that causes the smell, but it is a German thing. All German built cars have the same crayon smell. The funny thing is over there, they think our cars smell funny. LOL

LINES? I DONT NEED NO STINKIN LINES!!!! i have to say i have never heard this! do you keep the dash sunshade covered to keep the heat down?
my 32 doesnt have the alcantra seats full leather instead and with the zaino leather conditioner thats what my car smells like.
nick you can keep the crayons in the humidor but for gods sake man quit smoking them!!!
