uhh antenna?

The only difference in the caps, is TPM caps have a seal inside to prevent moisture contamination. If you inspect newer DC vehicles, they have switched to a plastic cap. The new plastic caps are silver to differentiate them from normal caps. Again the difference being the seal inside the cap. Check it out, pull a cap- inside is a small seal.

I was told at our Chrysler training center a couple years ago that the cap acted as an antenna. The old ones were metal and had a point on the top.I had a few vehicles with missing caps that wouldn't register the sensor.Maybe they changed the design of the sensor on the newer vehicles. My xfire has metal pointed caps.

You posts sent me out to the garage to check mine out, they are a silver metal (non-ferrous) also with a point. Inside is an orange seal. Glad I insisted on original replacements.

WOW, $27500 for a used '04 with only 2600 miles. Those were the good ol' days.

The Crossfire is a WONDERFUL car and I probably will never get more attention in a car than I did in that Crossfire (except maybe a Ferarri). I'm one of those people that trades cars too often and always takes a hit on depreciation (let's face it after 8 months, what do you expect). I found it interesting that will the rebates out and the new $29K Xfire coming out, I really took it in the shorts this time. The going price (and I checked with about 7 dealers, and they all were within $500,) is about $25K on a used auto (mine only had 2600 miles). I found a dealer that did not know about the new ones coming out or rebates and he gave me $27500 (which in my mind is great, considering some here are buying new ones (albeit 5spds) for about $1000 more). It's too bad that DCX did not put more effort into the Xfire (just from a pricing standpoint). I hate to see such a great car lose such a large amount of $--but again I'm just stating facts--not looking for an arguement.

Early adopters always take a gamble, and I will continue to do so in the future, but there is always a price to pay (as long as you come into the game with your eyes wide open). I wish all good luck, and I've enjoyed the banter that this forum has provided.

Take care...

I bet he does miss it. Sometimes you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone. Now he's just another Z on the street.

LOL yes he does, he comes over for dinner from time to time, stands at the kitchen window and looks out at the Crossfire... says ALL THE TIME, "you know, that is one good looking car, I should not have sold that car" LOL.... But he is my Bestus Good Friend, and he knows it is loved. so all is wel. He still rides in it and sees it al the time. I think he regrets his decision every time he see the car.

what is funny is i paid 17k 6 months ago brand new 18 miles and carmax offered me 16k and car has 5200 miles if that helps anyone 08 6 spd limited . Reason i picked up the crossfire i figure it will have the least amount of depreciation and still have a fun vehicle to try. Also it looks down right sexy now i need to figure out how to get some more power out of this car.
