Default Looking to buy a coupe

Hi All I'm new from Barrie Ontario

I'm looking for a coupe for my wife as a summer care, I have loved these cars since they first came out. Could any of you please inform me of any major negatives to be on the lookout for aswell as any quirky things that are undetectable, I sure would hate to spend the money and have a lemon.

Thank you

No major problems... What common little problems that do happen can be easily fixed in you own garage. There are how-to's all over this forum.
I have a high KM car (over 176,000km) and it still runs like a champ!
I was in Barrie with the car this past weekend! great town.

I hope you get one soon.

Not a really big concern but the extent of the rust is not obvious, it may be more prevalent on cars used in salty conditions.

You should look into buying a car from the US. Import is not too much of a problem.

Thank you for the replies, Beaner, yes we love Barrie, and you confirmed what I had heard from my mechanic, he hasen't worked many but had said there is nothing that stands out.

I am looking at one from Florida, no winters and just arrived in Ontario last month the guy's son lived at their Florida res to attend school. Speaking of salt (would sea salt in the air be as bad as our road salt, not likly?) 37000mi $14,500. seems resonable

I found one on this site "I say one" I think that was the thread, it is 20km away 05 with 30000km at a dealer for $16900. about 2k more than I want to spend but could be worth it. I'm trying to buy one with no winters, I should be able to call the previos owner.

Thanks again.

I know of one , a 2004, maybe a 5 SSB Coupe NA, auto with only 12K on the clock and she wants 12.5K for it. She's overseas and couldn't take it with her. It's here in Minneapolis.

auto=auto stick.

5SSB n/a = 2005 Sapphire Silver Blue Limited Crossfire

NA= Naturally Aspirated (not supercharged).

Looking at a Florida car just came to Canad last month all registered and brought to Canadian (money grab) standards, as previously stated I wanted a salt free car, would the sea salt hav caused as much underlying damage as our road salt. My gut says no however I would not buy a Florida motorcycle as the aluminium is always pitted due to salt in the air.

Any thoughts from thoughs who may have a Sea side car?

Thank you.

2 members (bluecoupe and sparkieSRT6) just recently purchased srt6's from Flordia and imported them into canada. I have seen both cars multiple times and they look perfect. Any questions, send them a PM if you are worried about a Flordia car. They will talk you into it!

I live only 200 miles north of Florida and I've found TWO Coupes down there this week I am thinking about!

Florida - nice place to visit, nice place to find XF's, but don't wanna LIVE down there!

I have had 3 sets of tires, the OEM Continental Conti's, they are good tire but lousy tread life. My next set was Goodyear Eagle F-1's with carbon fiber inner wall linings. They saved my life from a major pot hole or something that was about 6" deep and swallowed my car up, high spped lane after paying with EZ-Pass over the GW bridge in NY. Trucks in front side and rear, all set to gobble me up and the car with it. I managed to make it to a rest area where I inspected the damage. 1 bent rim and the others were damaged as well. The tires were all holding air ( I use nitrogen in them) I limped home, called my insurance co. and got an adjuster there pretty quickly.
The point is I got enough to buy TSW Willow Rims all around and Toyo Proxes T1 R all around. They are great and would recomend them over some of the major brands out there. They handle quite well and look great too!

Thanks crossfire trail, good advice for sure, I hav a set of Proxis on my 300c for summer and they seem great I have put about 20-30k (km.) and they are pretty quiet, I think I can get the rest of this season and may be able to find a rime/tire package, they seem to give the tires away if you buy the rims.

Thank you

I have General UHP Exclaims on the rear. Little firmer ride then the Conti's. I would have them on the front but the damn things are on backorder.
