Default 50 amp Radiator Fan fuse??

Ok, I think I located the fuse (right by the battery, small little black box, in front of big locking black box, only 3 fuses in there, 50amp, 50amp, 200amp) Is that correct?

Anyway, these fuses didnt look like any other fuses. Looks like 3 cables going into that little box and they are bolted in. If I am looking at the right thing, how do I replace this fuse? And where can I get a 50amp fuse like that? I bught a 50amp fuse from ebay but it is shaped as your regular fuse just a little bit big thats all, unlike this.

Any help would be appreciated on this. Fan is suppose to be here today.

P.S. BP11, If you want to meet up today after or around 4pm to try my fan out to diagnos your problem more accurately, we can do that.

Thank you very much!

Those are the correct fuses... make sure you disconnect the battery, then just un-bolt the fuse and replace it.... pretty straight forward... did you ohm it out and make sure it is blown??

You are at the right place. When I bought my 04 this fuse was out(?). Replaced it and did not have ANY problem for 3 years. Bought mine at the dealer; it cam in a two pack.

My fan motor bearings were shot. when we jump started the fan, it was wobbling and sparkling but still working. So since it wasnt kicking in at all because it was probably in a stuck position or something, I assume it blew a fuse. I dont want to think about control module being bad also.

Where can I get that kind of fuse? Never seen anything like that. What are they called? Would autozone or advance auto carry them?

Take one to the parts store and show it to them... or go to the dealer like Jimmy James did...MB or Chry...

Hey man I am almost 100% sure it was my fan and since I have one on it's way sometime this century because these idiots can't send parts on time I am just going to have to wait it out. If your thinking of coming to the Elmhurst area I should be around there all night I mean I can try your fan but I am like 99% sure nothing else if wrong..

That Fan Fuse is located in the box on the passenger side of the car, just by the battery, it can be purchased at most any autoparts store. I speak from experience, as my fan fuse keep blowing turned out to be a bad fan motor... replaced it and the fuse no problem sense... I ordered my fan with the housing for $139.00 via ebay, perfect fit, only to ME about 15 to replace it.

You have to take those tiny nuts off remove the bar and then the fuse will pop right out, it is a square fuse with two metal taps where it attaches. I got mine at Auto Zone, take one with you.

Glad I could be of help sweetie.... Took me forever to find my problem and I drove mine for a month without the fan working, but the weather was cooler then too and was not much a problem.

If you replace the fuse the fan may run, mine did, it will eventually blow again, I finally wound up taking mind to the Stealership and had them determine that it was indedd the fan, then took it home, ordered the fan, no problem sense.

Good Luck and let me know what happens.

I am going to kick you guys in the @$$!!!! I have been reading all these threads about the 'coolant indicator' and fan issues and I was coming home from the office and my 'coolant indicator' came on. When I pulled into the drive it went out.

Thanks a lot you !@&@^%!^$#@#

When the engine cools down, I will check the fluid.

got the fan and installed it in 1 minute. plugged it in and BAM!! it works. no fuse needed Thanks guys, this was pain. days of driving in 90+ degrees weather without fan, without A/C :/

However, one issue with the new fan, damn connectors wont lock in when I plug them in. so i used duct tape to keep it steady until i figure something out.

She works.

BP11, Sounds good buddy, I am actually glad to hear yours is fan also. it is an easy fix. if you ever need to try my fan for any reason, we can do it anytime

and I will see you very soon to give you that money.
