Default new 2004 price

liked the look of the crossfire since it came out, have had a bmw z3, 328 coup3 and 325 Dinan convertable. found a 2004 crossfire on a chrylser dearlership in Canada, 1700 kms, never sold never registered comes with all the full original warranties, list price on the coupe was 57k, He is asking 24k for it now but my problem is the minute I register it it is worth 14k. am I right on this or what is a fair offer on the car. Black with black and cedar interior which I just love

You are correct! He can ask what ever he wants. Yes the low miles are great. I bought a 2005 SRT6 with 917 miles that was only driven 650 miles by the first owner for $19,655, and that was top dollar. I sell cars, and I knew that I was paying up. That car is not worth $24k at all. Jimmy

$57,000 is a stretch, $49,000 for a 6 speed.

If you have seen anything like the first item with $57,000 on it someone has faked it.
I purchased my '04 new in October '05 with 50 kilometers on it for $33,000 and I thought that was a lot.

Just bought an 04 1 owner with 5600 miles on it. Never driven in the rain, garage kept etc. Got it for 13K and no, of course there's no warranty. But, I can go buy one for between 1200 and 2000 for a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper (with a 100 deductble likely). So, it's basically a new car with a new car warranty for 15000k -- so I'd say 24k is high. I'd say 17 to 19k might be a better ballpark target price --- but then again --- when we want something ......................

Maybe it's the Canadian dollar conversion but my '06 limited convertible stickered at $40K US

This '04 is just that, an '04 @ 6 years old. Like a barn find, it is a gem but I woud say let it set until a collector wants to pay $24K for it.

Every Crossfire out there from '04 to '08 IS THE SAME.

Forget the year.
Buy for miles and for what you really really want.

Remember, everytime the payment is due you have to like it.

I like the Crossie I bought NEW no more or less than the one I bought USED.
So buy right and enjoy.

This one, $15K US tops. Isn't that like $ 18K-$19K Canadian

thanks for the comments, will look into an after market warranty up here as well, a good bumper to bumper coverage would be nice. also looking at 2005 srt6, 34k kilometers for around 20k$. that might be the better deal. the salesman said he would not even look at an offer of 18k for the new unregistered coupe. the dealer is arrogant, said he would rather let it deteriorate on his lot than for sell it for any less than what he is asking..

No, the US dollar has dropped like a brick, two years ago the Canadian $ was worth more than the US $.
$15,000 US = $15,555 Can.
That's why we can afford to go to the Dragon and buy you a beer or three.

Agreed. Unless you just have the need to row to work everyday, get the SRT.

They are the ones that will hold some value.
You can get into an NA for less than $7K US these days. Imagine.

That's exactly was has been happening to that car for the last 6 years. I'll bet that car has been sitting on his lot outside and subjected to our harsh Canadian climate since new and is in worst shape than a good used southern US car.

well if you really want a low mile xfire. here's a 2006 blk LTD coupe with 120 miles on it for US$ 20k in Omaha

2006 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Less than 200 Miles

really a shame to put miles on it, but if you had to.....

buy it and store it and I'll take it off your hands in a couple yrs.

just stumbled on a '08 with 250 miles for $25k

http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/1950052642.html

so many options...

IMO, if you are going to drive the car, you want one with some miles on her. For a car to sit and not be driven in that long, it could have some gremlins you may have to work out, especially with how finicky our electrical systems are. If it were me, I would get one with a few thousand on it that was treated extremely well, something you know the guy drove < 1,000 miles a year, but kep it running and fluids changed/monitored.

I have a few concerns as well about the car sitting for so long as well, but the bumper to bumper warranty starts from when it is registered so I am good for three years on that ans seven on the powertrain. On the flip side you can get one hell of an after market warranty for 10 grand. I noticed that the auto tranny has a winter and summer mode. do any of you southernboys know what winter is and do any of you drive them year round with winter tires on them. I am quite familar with rear wheel drive and have several driving courses and high speed courses under my belt. would like to drive this year round which would include rain and snow..
tks
The SRT is still a possibility as it has not been sold, how is the SRT in snow ?

The SRT is rubbish with summer rubber in the snow. Sorry that's all I know so far lol.

Warranty is good, but trust me when I say, you would not want the dealership tearing into a car that has been sitting for years and has issues, most of the dealerships DO NOT know how to work on these cars because they are mercedes, no chryslers, mechanically.

I drive mine year round in Indianapolis, winters are not horrible, but we see a fair amount of snow. I put blizzak LM-25s all the way around on the OEM rims and I have zero issues in the winter, the only thing to worry about is if they have not plowed and the snow is over 6", you will not get anywhere b/c the front of the car will be a snow plow LOL

Ask 'Kurts' about the SRT in winter, I know he has one up in Wisconsin where they get some nasty weather...
