I can't believe how well "one" held up!
The good news; you made her what she was!
No bad news! You will LOVE "two". Just give her a little time.

I'm glad you didn't put any dents in yourself and especially Molly.
That's worse than what I had imagined.

I am glad you are OK John. As I was reading this, I literally lived the moment. Very scary.

P.S. Underneath of a crossfire looks badass. smooth and all covered up (looks like u didnt have the cover below the engine compartment)

He bought this one (below) from one of the locals here in Chi-town. (without the girl..lol)
I'm sure he will be modding it out nicely for the reveal this spring.
I have already expressed to John my sadness for his loss,
I think I was the first one back in the lodge lobby to see him after the accident and we both had tears in our eyes at that very moment.
It is something even I will never forget.

John had an amazing positive attitude considering what he had been through and the loss of such a beautiful car.
He said it's just a metal object and he still had his life and Molly and the car would be replaced.
Some of us locals met up with John and Molly when they came to Chi-town to purchase this next Crossfire.
I'm looking forward to seeing them again in the Spring.

I don't think anyone here would say anything mean. Never hit a man when he is down.

I noticed your engine plate under the car was missing. Did that fall off or did you take it off. Just curious.

Glad you are ok. Sorry about your loss. You just lived my worst nightmare. God bless you!

Wow, that was bad with the potential of being deadly. It's great that you were able to get out and were (relatively) unhurt.

You did have an amazing Crossfire, truly one of a kind. Look forward to seeing your future plans.

Jeremy

Well John, "Baby Benz" is a car I will never forget. It was the car that "got thru to me" - I'd never really understood "blacking out" a car.

Then I saw yours.

Truly, even tho it was "blacked out" and even tho it was simply a base coupe - it truly was the most beautiful Crossfire I have ever seen.

And you know I am sincere here, because I told you all of this over a year ago.

John, I haven't met you, but now feel like I know you after re-enacting in my mind the accident, based on the pic.'s. You were blessed, but remember, you used up 1 of your allotted lives, LOL. So glad you came out unscathed. Our Crossfires really are "little tanks" aren't they. Testament is that you went right out and got another! Carpe diem my friend.

I was wondering about a situation where the car is totaled...is there a point before the ins co. buys it that we can get our mods off of it? I know wheels and exhaust would be off the list but I just woonder about all the litle mods and quick bolt ons we all have in our cars

When Evan and Franc both had roadsters, we all wondered the same thing when we were out on the side of the road, and trust me when I say, if I would have been 3 inches taller or 10 lbs heavier, I would not have made it out the way I did.

If you add anything to the car that was never there originally, you should be able to get it off. If you replace something, you must leave it under most circumstances. It all totally depends on your insurance company, but after the fight I have on my hands, I would strongly recommend anyone who has significant money into their car to have the insurance company get you an 'Appraised value' on the car so if something happens, you are covered for everything you have into the car, and the increase in price each month is usually small.

That was her before I got a hold of her here is a little sneak peak from yesterday...

The important thing is that you walked away. Iron can always be replaced. Best of luck.

Yikes, did time seem to slow down? Any thoughts on why the airbags didn't deploy (speed of impact)?

Glad you didn't get hurt, you are a lucky man. So, are you saying nobody else saw you go off the road?

Was it the big main hatch glass you were able to break out?
