As promised - My wreck in pictures.
Jeeze Louise!!! Its so frightning to see how fast something can go SO wrong on an "ordinary" day. All I can say is thank God your Misses didn't go along....wow.
Glad youre OK and great luck on your next XF

I am glad you are OK John. As I was reading this, I literally lived the moment. Very scary.
P.S. Underneath of a crossfire looks badass. smooth and all covered up (looks like u didnt have the cover below the engine compartment)

He bought this one (below) from one of the locals here in Chi-town. (without the girl..lol)
I'm sure he will be modding it out nicely for the reveal this spring.
I have already expressed to John my sadness for his loss,
I think I was the first one back in the lodge lobby to see him after the accident and we both had tears in our eyes at that very moment.
It is something even I will never forget.
John had an amazing positive attitude considering what he had been through and the loss of such a beautiful car.
He said it's just a metal object and he still had his life and Molly and the car would be replaced.
Some of us locals met up with John and Molly when they came to Chi-town to purchase this next Crossfire.
I'm looking forward to seeing them again in the Spring.

I don't think anyone here would say anything mean. Never hit a man when he is down.
I noticed your engine plate under the car was missing. Did that fall off or did you take it off. Just curious.
Glad you are ok. Sorry about your loss. You just lived my worst nightmare. God bless you!

Wow, that was bad with the potential of being deadly. It's great that you were able to get out and were (relatively) unhurt.
You did have an amazing Crossfire, truly one of a kind. Look forward to seeing your future plans.

Well John, "Baby Benz" is a car I will never forget. It was the car that "got thru to me" - I'd never really understood "blacking out" a car.
Then I saw yours.
Truly, even tho it was "blacked out" and even tho it was simply a base coupe - it truly was the most beautiful Crossfire I have ever seen.
And you know I am sincere here, because I told you all of this over a year ago.

John, I haven't met you, but now feel like I know you after re-enacting in my mind the accident, based on the pic.'s. You were blessed, but remember, you used up 1 of your allotted lives, LOL. So glad you came out unscathed. Our Crossfires really are "little tanks" aren't they. Testament is that you went right out and got another! Carpe diem my friend.

I was wondering about a situation where the car is totaled...is there a point before the ins co. buys it that we can get our mods off of it? I know wheels and exhaust would be off the list but I just woonder about all the litle mods and quick bolt ons we all have in our cars

Yikes, did time seem to slow down? Any thoughts on why the airbags didn't deploy (speed of impact)?
Glad you didn't get hurt, you are a lucky man. So, are you saying nobody else saw you go off the road?
Was it the big main hatch glass you were able to break out?
