Default Dang it Chrysler!!!

Waited about 2 months for a new passenger headlamp on the high priority list and it finally came in. Had my shop put it on and the adjuster for the lights doesnt work. Now I have to reorder a new one, so I'm betting it doesnt come for another 4 months. Great work Chrysler!

Keep in mind that most automotive companies have outsourced these type of parts to low-cost providers. These assemblies are probably made in Mexico, Korea, or China. It's always a struggle to balance quality against price, and it seems Chrysler (and you) lost this one. I wonder if our headlights are the same as the ones in the SLK320? Might be a cheaper, better replacement option.

They are not even close in size or shape.

I'm actually a little surprised that you got anything at all. I would have guessed that those parts didn't exist at all anymore.

Actually I was surprised too when I got the call. First it was like goodluck getting one, then in 2 weeks Chrysler was going to do a release on them, that date goes by and another release date, and so on.

So again, I dont know when to expect another. I guess we'll see.

I thought my new ones were broken also....I kept turning the adjuster for a while until i heard a "pop" shazam, now it works. It was un-seated...I cant remember if it was clock or counter clock wise, but it worked. go out there and turn for a while.

Blame Daimler, not Chrysler for the hard to get parts problem! I love how everyone hates that the crossfire has anything to do with Chrysler & admittedly would never own a Chrysler product, but then blame Chrysler for everything when this is basically a Daimler vehicle! Just saying!

We are the children of a divorce, no doubt about it. But, unfortunitely, we have a dead beat Dad...and that is Chrysler.

I went to a Chrysler Recruiting Fair at Michigan State about 2 months ago and I found it hilarious how much they went out of their way to bad mouth Daimler every chance they got. "What a horrible, money thieving company. Fiat is a true partner!"

Fiat does bring a lot to the table but seriously, at least Daimler is letting it go. You dragged them down just as much. No wonder Daimler demanded they use their parts for the cars, Chrysler's were junk. Hell, even Chrysler's new cash cow, the new Grand Cherokee, is all Mercedes.

If you ever need a book to read, I sincerely recommend "Taken For A Ride: How Daimler Drove Off With Chrysler". Outstanding book about the merger.

Well, in a way - I guess they don't.

Several issue came to light after my recent purchase...2005 Limited Coupe

Without going into any details or even a short summary, or the BS info before and after from the salesman and higher ups.... read the different sections of this forum before buying, and or looked a little closer before signing on the dotted line... would not be a XFire owner.

With this said..... didn't check to see if the horn worked (my fault for not checking) .... wife was taking it to another location for another issue, and I was picking her up there and taking her to work...... during her drive there she tried the horn.... nothing.

This past Monday dropped it off at the Dealership with a list of additional concerns.... received a loaner in return..... late Wed. GM called..... this and that has been addressed, (didn't go over the list completely).... the Horn had to be specialed ordered and as of 4 pm had not arrived...... here it is Sat morning and haven't heard any more...... assume it still has not arrived..... wonder if and when it's done, if the horn will be a new one, or one from a junk yard.

It's disappointing to read the limitation of available replacement parts for all model years. After all..... **** happens from time to time, and things need to be replaced for whatever reason...... what is a nice car, and can put a smile on one's face..... can quickly turn around.

Damn, it had less than 38K on it...... personally I believe no one at the dealership went over the car before putting it up for sale (it's a Chrysler Dealership), or if they did, just ignored a handful of short comings, for whatever reason.

The only good thing..... given a loaner (2011 Altima).... as soon as I drove it off..... ding, ding.... have 47 miles before gas runs out (LOL).... drove it home and it's sat on the driveway waiting to be returned.

When I get it back..... will probably attempt to sell it..... and it will be in 100% better overall condition than when I bought it on 12/27/2010, including some paint work on my dime right off the bat, (dealer declined to address that and gave some BS reason for that decision).... have no one to blame but myself for signing on the dotted line.

Just thought I'd vent and give my 2 cents.
