OEM Battery Life?
I replaced both cars batteries with the little 15# batteries late last summer. Mine were still working fine, but after 5 yrs, don't need to be stranded, or cause undo harm to the eletricals for the cost of a battery. History on here shows problems in the 5 yr range for many. Not worth the risk.

? Is that a lightweight racing battery?
The Pep Boy guy behind the counter looked it up then went and got it off the shelf. It is in the car already so no idea of model number. Sorry. But it was 99 bux. I think they are on sale this month. Of course.
My 2005 OEM battery just started throwing Low voltage codes last week. My ABS and TBS traction were shutting off, and the spoiler was having a mind of its own. After replacing the OEM with the new Optima Yellow Top all is well once again.
Well my car was built in Feb 04 and I had the plugs, coolant, filters etc done in Dec as it was well over the 5 year mark but less than 50K (30K miles). I noticed a lot of battery posts lately so have been thinking that was my next purchase. Took it for a nice drive today after it sat for a couple weeks in near freezing weather - started fine but it took a couple tries to lock it when I went for lunch with a Buddy. After a couple hour lunch the remote wouldn't open the car and nothing when I tried the ignition. Did notice the spoiler came up partially. It jumped with no problem but will be getting a new battery tomorrow. Like everyone says it is not worth waiting till it happens - just replace it. Thanks for almost getting me to do it before I needed it!
