OEM Battery Life?
How many people with 04s/05s or 06s still have the original battery?
If your original battery actually died before you replaced it.....how long after the car was actually manufactured was it when the battery croaked?

Battery Replacement - Interstate MTP-91
Battery life is said to be 5 years.
Play it safe and replace it after 5 years to avoid many unusual electrical problems in our Crossfires.

I replaced the one in my Red Roadster last fall, the Graphite Roadster got a new battery this week (less than two weeks after I brought it home).
Based on the experiences I and others have had with the car not starting/running right only due to a weak battery, I'd suggest replacement at four years.
I got my batteries at O'Reilly Auto Parts, $89.99 last fall and $94.99 this time around. Their charts showed the "Sure Start" model 48-72 as a replacement. It's a bit less tall, so I use a piece of heater hose under the battery clamp to make it fit tight.
Gary (Valkeyryderguy) might be right at 5 years, but I think 4 years is more like it, a battery does not cost that much - yet, we have found several weird problems with these cars are due only to an old battery. Also, if it fails and you need to be towed, you'll spend a lot of money for, what is IMO, no reason.
I say that, by now, all of the original batteries in 04, 05 and 06 cars should have been replaced.
LET ME ADD THIS: Kathy noticed that I often had to try to start my Manual roadster 2 or 3 times. I blamed the fact that it's a manual and does not auto-crank like the auto. But it occured to me yesterday that since I put the new battery in, only once have I had to try to start the car twice - it starts that much faster now, due, I am sure, to the much faster speed with which it turns over.

The dealer had replaced mine with a new OEM battery just before I bought it because it had died - it was 3 years old. My car had sat for a year before being put into service, then was shuffled around several dealerships before I became the first private owner - kind of a hard life on a battery. The new one is still going strong after almost 3 years...

I finally took my battery out (03) and gave it to my dad for his workshop projects. still works good but Im not taking a chance on being stranded...been there and done that before. I replaced it with an odessey
My '04 Crossfire built in '03 still has the original battery in it. No problems at all. I'll probably replace it before we go to CAA in July though just as a precaution because we are planning on keeping on going to California and don't want to be stranded.
My 04 still had the original battery in it until I decided not to chance it and replaced it in December. It was working fine but the car was built in July 2003 so it was 7.5 years old. Given what forum members said, I decided to pre-empt the issues which would be sure to come at some time.
Are American batteries crapper than UK batteries. I think most UK drivers would expect up to 10 years not 4 or 5
. Far as I can tell my 04 is original - stood outside for a week at up to -10c started first time. Wouldn't it be easy to check the electrical gremlins idea by replacing the battery and if they go away then replace the old battery and see if they come back?

Still have original battery.
I put a meter on it every so often, As long as it reads 12.65 volts after sitting, and the car has no problem turning over I will keep it.

I have the 15 lb. Odyssey sitting in the garage to be installed in the Spring.
For those that have installed this battery, do you need the supplemental holder for the smaller battery or does it bolt right in with the existing holder?

I replaced the battery in the '04 coupe on 11/2008 when it died unexpectedly. I still have the OEM battery in the SRT-6 and plan to replace it soon.
