Since the lens is glass, it would probably be less work to sand and polish the glass of your original.
Nevermind. I just went back and re-read your original thread.

Yes. There is a thread about it with pics. If you take the housing out and look at it, it is obvious. Make sure to get the gasket back in correct.

No. In neither case does it show how to remove the lens from the housing.

ROFLMAO, it's rare that 180 provides links for someone. When he does go to the extra effort he gets no love.

I took mine apart to clean then when I had the front end apart, it is very easy, and as soon as you have one out, you will see how they come apart, a few screws and you are done.....

Then clearly you have not attempted this. When you remove the assembly from the front bumper (easy access through the foglight door) and I think there are 3-4 screws holding it on. Once removed, you will see another 3-4 screws holding the lens on the assembly, remove these and you are there. This is really very basic, don't psych yourself out, just go out and do it....

A tip, if you angle the wheels the right direction for each side, you have lots more room to work with in the wheel well.

It's much easier by removing the front wheel.

Agreed, but very doable by angling them properly and if its cold out and all you want to do is get the assembly out, it is a lot easier than messing with a jack, stands, etc. just for a fog....

I don't think I'm making my question clear. Once you have the fog light in your hand, how do you separate the plastic bracket from the glass lens? There are no screws holding the plastic to the glass lens. The original poster has a cracked lens, and he only wants to replace the lens. I have a spare fog light with a broken bracket and good lens. Before I experimented with it, I was hoping to get some insight so that we can learn how to take apart without breaking the plastic.

I am not trying to be rude here, but there are screws or ***** around the outside of the lense (on the back), if memory serves, and as soon you have it in your hand, it is very easy to see how it all fits together, there are only a few screws, nothing hidden, very straighforward. It has been a few months, but I took mine apart to clean them and remember nothing tricky about the job at all.

Maybe someone else can chime in, thats all I got....

LOL, makes a lot more sense now, my OEM fogs are a different design, those appear sealed.

Sorry for getting preturbed with you, if you saw the other design you would laugh at how easy it was to disassemble

Reviving an old thread, but oh well:

Does anyone know what exact size torx driver you need to remove the fog housings?

Also, i'm guessing from this thread that the fog lights themselves can be changed without removing the wheels?

(and yes I did search for the above, and found only vague answers)

Thanks in advance guys

I do not recall the size of the torx, but it is of common size. You can remove the fogs without removing the wheels. It is easier with the wheels removed.
