3500 mile performance increase?
I just emailed Rene at Upsolute, asking him about the throttle
calibration. Here's what he says:
> Roger most of the Bosch ECU equipped cars with drive-by-wire
> electronic pedal and throttle have this feature. when the car is turned
> to the accesory position the throttle body will work to esablish it's
> limits , this is a self calibration feature. Regards, Rene

hmmm.. Thoughts and suggestions:
1) As stated in a previous post: The throttle automatically calibrates it self every key cycle.
2) Since this is drive by wire- there are no adjustments.
3) Since everything is computer controlled for EPA standards- there are no real adjustments. The transmission can be forced to relearn, and thats about it.
Now- I dont wish to sound mean spirited- only bring this up in fact, because someone on this forum actually had this happen to them:
Is it possible that your vehicle was left in the W or winter mode for the transmission? This provides different gear ratios in both forward and reverse, to reduce wheel spin in snow. Is it possible, they simply switched you back to S or summer mode? Someone on this forum did have this happen to them- and drove for quite some time without even realizing it! Quite the surprise when they figured out what that little W/S switch did!
Just my thoughts

OK, I talked with my service manager this morning and asked him if he had made any adjustments to my Xfire last week. He said everything is adjusted by the computer, there are no manual adjustments he can make. I told him I had a big jump in power and had other owners say the same thing. He just smiled, said he was glad I was happy but, it had to be some change the computer made. I could not get him to say more after that, he started talking about how great my car looked, etc. I still say they know what happens and are not going to make it public or DC knows and won't share with the dealers. Anyway, I'm happy with my ride and can't wait until the next oil change to see what happens then !!
!!
I'm not sure what the deal is with the car. I spoke with the service tech here in Germany and he said that the computer made the change and that he could not explain in english. He did state that he knows there is a change because he has done this to the dealership demo crossfire. He also said that there was a way to increase it but he would not do it because he did not want the responsibility of voiding my warranty. There is a program in the computer that some service techs are aware of. I let another owner of crossfire drive mine and he felt it also. He has over 400 miles on his and have 889 to date.
I went to get my bumper repaired yesterday and wanted an oil change and they would not do it until the car has 6,000 miles on it. Said that it is synthetic oil and doesn't need to be replaced until then. I have enough power now, but am curious if it will increase after first oil change!
