Default New Member/Crossfire owner.

Hello all.
As stated on this thread title. I'm a new 06 Crossfire Coupe owner..

Before buying checked out various buyers guides relating to the model..

No regular known issues showing as yet but hoping for some advice as not owned this model previously or known anyone that has come to that.

Can anyone help me regarding the following?

A Good Chrysler dealer / Garage in the Reading Berkshire area?

(Have previously owned alfa's so no stranger to dodgy Main dealers)

What is the uk availability of parts like still? Am i looking at future problems in this area..

Should i have the dreaded Cat problems? What costs am i looking at main dealer/specialist ?

Car came without the boot cover and Original fit Car mats? Gather the boot cover was quite an expensive option on the car new? So would i be right to think,,, I'd best forget it, regarding price and future availability of both?

Any advice gratefully received...

Ps.. I love the car...

Yes welcome.

everything on this car costs a lot to fix.

except your permagrin.

Oh wait, your in the UK at $9.00US per gallon fuel.
OK, everything onthis car costs a lot.

However, on the NA coupe, there are few problems.

I have heard little complaint about the cats.
Parts, especially body parts are hard to come by. Be encouraged thoght that most everything under the skin is from a 320SLK Benz.
Drive train, tranny, all mechanicals, gauges, sensors, etc. BCM, ECUs and such are custom, but available.

Guys here can get you matching MB numbers for anything.

Any issues, bring them here before you see a mechanic. That way, you will likely know more about the car than he will.

The 2006 models were inthe midstreamof production. Kharman had the wrinkles outand built them right by then.

Driven regularly and with spirit, this cars are very durable. Most of what you hear, as problems, on this forum is from guys who drive them hard or race. There are daily drivers onthe Forum who report no issues whatsoever.

You'll find them mostly on the general and political Forums.

Or, spending money on Bling.

Franc is right , aside from an early RCM problem I've had mine 3.5 years with no problems at all. The RCM was resoldered and works perfectly. I average about 7,000 miles per year on it and it is not my main car. I do take it on trips however.

Son of a poor pig farmer mentality. If it doesn't earn it's keep, it don't go on da jeep.

Or the tractor.
or the truck.
or the fingers.

Besides. I'm usually so far behind no one notices any bling.

Baz15 Hi,

Take a look at the UK Crossfire website and UK forum. You can register your car with Steve. There are numerous meets throughout the year to attend, all info is on the website. I am a new owner myself and was made very welcome by the UK Crossfire group.

U.K.
UK Crossfires - For owners of the Chrysler Crossfire in the UK

Hpoe to see you at one of the meets,

Regarding the questions i posted in the original thread..?
Obviously new to Crossfire ownership..
Just wondered what uk availability of various parts and accessories was like?
Obviously any ownership advice gratefully received..

Free Petrol pump at bottom of the garden would be nice.

Fuel.........£141.9 A litre in Reading area ..... Outch!!!

Like i said in previous post tho..
Previously owned Alfa's.. So kinda used to paying out at the pump for a vehicle of beauty

Still £141.9 ?

Hmm?

hi baz and welcome...i`m not too far from you i live in sandhurst near bracknell, as for local chrysler dealers you wont go far wrong with knowle hill garage, bath road, twford, about 5 or 6 miles from reading on the A4 towards maidenhead, i have used them for years, i have owned a cherokee, neon r/t, 2 pt cruisers and now my crossfire and they have always been top notch, as for accessories not much availiable over here to be honest although the odd thing does come up on ebay now and then, i also wanted a luggage cover but couldnt find one so i had my rear window tinted, stops prying eyes, simples, be good to catch up at a meet sometime...chris

Hello...
Thanks for the dealer advice Chris..
Hey, That red really brings out the alloys on the crossfire doesn't it? Using a good polish/wax on that too me thinks

I'll keep eye out for bits and pieces on e-bay then.. Tints does give me another option i guess
