Default Consol paint ware

After only 4000 miles i began to notice the grey paint coming off my consol wherever my arm consistantly touched. It seems that the plastic consol is not color inpregnated but rather spray painted grey. Luckly since i work at the dealership i took it to our interor specialist and he quickly mixed up some color, taped up all areas not to be sprayed, loaded up his trusty mini air brush and in less than 5 min i was on my way just like new. And i feel the paint our specialist used should hold up alot better than the factory. Has anyone else noticed this and if so how has your dealership delt with the problem Bobby N 04#2551 Graphite 6 Sp

I was afraid of that too, so I keep a small black towel folded on the console. I use that towel to lay on the steering wheel when I park.

I've seen this talked about on the MB boards about the SLK's. Dealers will treat this like anything else under warranty. As long as it isn't abused, it will be covered.

Can I take my different coloured bumpers in under warrenty cos I can't find it in the warrenty book. If I can I'll wait until my front bumper get a bit more messy.

This isn't just light / angle? I've noticed it on my car but if you crouch down or look at it on a lift, it matches just fine.

I've even had it on a lift and saw how much more it matched with me being below the car. I think the lines of the car is playing tricks on you 8)
