Default New TSB for wind noise??

I have been having trouble with wind noise, and my dealer could not get it right. The service manager called me last week and told me he would call D/C and also call around to other dealers to see if they had any better ideas.

He just called me and told me that he received a new TSB from D/C concerning wind noise on Crossfires.

I asked him if it was just a copy of the original TSB from last October.

He said that it is a 12 page list of fixes for wind noise on this car and is dated 05-04-2004. He also said that one of the people that works at the dealership has a Crossfire with the same type of problem, and that he wants to try this new TSB on his car first, to make sure it works, and then have me make an appointment.

The last thing he said was: "The next time you bring in your car, I want this to be fixed. I will call you in a few days to let you know how it worked out."

I am really happy about how I am being treated. He did everything he said he would, and called me back to to let me know what is going on.

Do any of the techs on the forum have any info on this TSB?

Thanks.

 YIKES!!! A 12 page list of fixes for wind noise??? No wonder some of the techs were not able to fix it the first time

I'm glad to hear someone is getting treated so nicely by their dealer. Hopefully more dealers will catch on.

I'm eager to hear how it turns out for you. I haven't addressed my problem (minor) with wind noise yet, however I find it's worse in a crosswind and I have to deal with it sometime. I just don't want them to mess around not knowing what to do, and make it worse than it is.

Funny thing is, my wind noise fix worked great the first time. Plus, I think my dealer is going to be just fine. We had the radio glitch but that got resolved to my satisfaction. I'm still doing cartwheels over the first gear synchronizer fix. It ain't a first gear synchronizer, it's a six gear synchronizer.

Not everyone has this issue. It can be resolved if they follow the steps in the TSB. See the TSB section and tell you dealer to look it up. If they are having issues resolving it, have them contact there tech advisor.

The original TSB does not always solve the problem. :-(

The Service Manager from my dealer just called me to tell me that the new set of fixes he received from D/C has corrected the wind noise problems on the Crossfire owned by one of the salesmen, and I made an appointment for next week to get mine fixed.

Wind noise is not normal. If you are not happy, be nice, but firm in your position that you want it fixed.

Good luck.

I have noticed another problem that may be causing the wind noise. They did the TSB on mine and I still have it. Seems like the top front portion of the window, say 5-6 inches is not seated correctly and is out of adjustment. I can "gently" poke my key from the front corner of the window and back towards the rear. About 5-6 inches back the window makes a tighter seal and I can no longer do it. The passenger side is properly adjusted. I checked the cars on my dealers lot, over half of which I could do the same... the rest of the cars the windows fit perfectly.

Just something to check if your dealer is having some trouble getting your car fixed.

PS: To fix this problem as I described, they will have to tear apart the door to adjust the window track... ouch.

I plug the spaces with a black foam hoping to reduce air intake in the area
