Why you don’t put AMG on your Crossfire
I was under the impression that these were AMG engines in these? Or am I misinformed? I don't care what someone does with their car. Individuality is what makes this world great. It would be boring if everyone thought the same way and did the same things, right? Thats why I blacked my xfire out. Some may like the idea, while others may hate it. I personally dont give a f$#%, lol. Its what I like and its all that matters to me. Also, I am not high and mighty and full of shi% to think that others care how I feel or to call them names or try to belittle them for what they do to their cars. What a doucher, haha

Obviously my form of sarcasm does not sit well with this group. I'm only saying that I don't care what people do to their cars. It doesn't make them any more "pure" after they're in the scrap yard.
I joined this forum in 2008 and read a lot of what you guys talked about. There is an elitist mentality in some of you that really shines. I only came back here after finding some trouble with my Crossfire. For the most part, the how-to's and tech articles are unbeatable. This other crap about glowing sill plates and lowering kits - you can keep all that.
I was only trying to get a feel for this forum. Sadly, being called a troll is like being kicked out of your exclusive party that I will have nothing more to do with.
Thanks onehundred80 for the kindness - the rest of you...

After all the BS is said and done, I still feel the same way -- if you have the ***** to put the sticker on, I'll have the respect to let you do so. Whether I agree or not is irrelevant -- it's not my car.
Personally, I've made a concerted effort to keep AMG off the exterior. Under the hood, I have no choice -- it's on there from the factory in dozens of locations. That's why I got with andrew to get my custom Affalterbach emblems made -- it speaks to the heritage, but leaves AMG out of it.
The "SRT" brand name is making a big enough comeback with the 2013 Viper that I feel more compelled to flaunt those three letters than the "AMG" moniker everyone equates as a god. To me, AMG is nothing sacred -- it's a tuning wing of a company (Mercedes) that isn't even in the top ten of global market share. Sure, they make some nice fast cars, many of which I love. But they're not indefatigable; no brand is. For every fast AMG out there, I'll show you a GT-R that is faster. Gottlieb Daimler would roll over in his grave if he knew his finest cars were getting raped by a Datsun.
Love what you drive, but don't lie about it. Nobody is fooled, except the owner.
If I wanted an Amg I would buy one...but I don't have any interest in an Amg. That is why I am in a crossfire forum. I don't hang around the slk forum and pretend like I have an slk.

Also keep in mind that if you did read posts on this forum then you would know putting Amg badges on our cars is a very sensitive subject around here. Only the srt model can be considered an Amg... But the real question is can it be called Amg? That is a topic that you just don't want to start around here.
I'm not here to criticize other owners on what they have or have not done to their XFs. Just wanted to share a picture (above) of my SRT-6. As you can tell, I like debadging for the cleaner look. Cheers!
i was on a plane ( funny it looked a lot like a bentley) so i didnt get to see what he posted. needless to say im sure i would be deeply hurt if i had. NOT!
But again... If I had an Amg why would I be in the crossfire forum? I would probably be in a slk forum.
So why would someone that does not own a crossfire be lurking around a crossfire forum?
Sorry to change the subject, but could someone please explain why some people feel the need to hide the license plate # when they post vehicle pic. Did they steal it or something? Afraid someone will photoshop it into a crime scene? Warrant out for too many parking tickets? Or maybe they don't want the I.R.S. or x-wife to see that they have a whopping $16k luxury car, lol. Maybe a simple explanation; but I don't understand it.

I've been following this thread with some amusement. From what I have read about the Crossfire, I am under the impression that it is essentially a car, spawned from the Diamler-Chrysler "merger" comprised of Mercedes parts, assembled by the German automobile company, Karmann with some Chrysler suspension tuning, guided by Chrysler designers lead by Eric Stoddard - am I correct so far?
That makes it a MERKARSLER!!! ha ha ha - you guys crack me up!
Andrew, can you make a MERKARSLER emblem?
