Most likely not - to make it like the SRT-6 you have to rebuild the engine with lower compression pistons, new rods and a new crankshaft, then you have to add the supercharger with an intercooler, after that you need to do the electronics. Renntech guessed the would charge about 16k - 18k so it would be cheaper to buy a SRT-6.

i dont think you would have to change anything inside of the motor, pretty much every engine out there today can handle a low boost supercharger stock. im not sure what the boost is on the srt-6, but a change in psi is as easy as swapping a pulley. but id say just wait for an aftermarket one to come out, most of them have warranties too.

From what I have been instructed...

The Supercharger may be added to the 3.2. If installed at the time of delivery you maintain the 3yr/36k, but if installed after, it carries a 12mo/12k warranty.

Pleasae correct me if I am wrong.

Where did you hear that? In the last response I received from Chrysler customer service last month their was still no offerings for upgrades and they did not know if it would ever be offered.

Once again the setup is totally differnt and would require a lot of hardware. I have yet to see an aftermarket simple upgrade for the slk 320 that involves a kompressor. Hopefully somebody figure out some way for us to get another 40 hp out of ours for cheap.

For the neon, PT cruiser, and the xfire, there is, or soon will be, warranty protected superchargers similar to the factory warrantied turbos. As for the validity? Good question... I sell for a dealer...they treat employees as they do customers...Always putting us together.

I would think eventually something would come up...

I have a Vortech supercharger on my 1996 Vette it has 10.5 compression ratio. I have retained the stock short block. The full system only ran about $6,000 .
As others have mentioned. There are serious considerations to be taken. I'm pretty much limited to 8 pounds of boost and require an additional fuel pump, larger injectors and a ignition with boost retard. I have only had my Crossfire for a day so I have a lot to learn about this car...

What kind of boost are they getting out of the Kompressors?

I see - not sure what the compression on the engine after changing out the rods etc.. but the SC on the SRT6 should put out 14.5 pounds of boost...

If we all keep hamering the aftermarket guys they may get something in place. I am going to start hitting up the turbo guys since the SC guys are dragging the rear ends...

I should restate that with the V8's obviously dropping the compression ratio and new pistons and rods there are some pushing 10-15 pound range... of course more with intercooling... as most know there is NO room to add to much under that hood...

Depending on the heat in in Southern CA I generally am making anywhere from 480 - 522 horses.

A couple folks have asked how I've made the transistion , I still have the Vette, but LOVE my Xfire and look forward to growing with the market and the car as well... it is quite snappy!

14.5 psi? that high for a supercharger. no wonder those amg motors are handbuilt. i would think that running a 6 psi supercharger would give the xfire roughly 275 hp, just based on the kind of increase the average car sees from a supercharger. again, a low psi supercharger would require little or no internal upgrades to a motor. just go to any other forums where people do alot of modding and you will see that. of course, it will limit your engine life somewhat, but thats a tradeoff you would still make, built motor or not, again, on a low psi system.
