I don't know what the speed limit was on the road you were on, but let's say it was 65. I would rather get a ticket for reckless driving than a ticket
for 105 in a 65MPH zone.

(Just thought I would throw that in there to soften what the others are going to post about you driving 105 MPH on the streets.... )

My daily commute involves turnpike travel. Been doing it for 15 years now, and pretty much know where they like to hide. Had mine up to 110 a few times but still ansy about those pretty lights showing up behind me! Thank god they don't use airplanes as part of the typical patrol.

Now some one tell me why I need that Eurocharge?? LOL.

That is the reason I do not do the performance upgrades. NO place to use them on the street. Got a warning for 62 in a 40 zone with just a throttle tap. SRT6. gary

The first performance upgrade should always be a good radar detector. Not long after putting the V8 in, I got four tickets in a month. Since the detector no one.

this calls for a lawyer
plea down to a +20 ticket
reckless driving is a high level ticket
and about as high level offense you can have wo accident, injury, or death
and a sure boost for insurance premiums
practice patience

Never had one ticket until I started driving my crossfire. My camaro never attracted cops like this car does. So with 20+ years of driving I only recieved 2 speeding tickets in the last few years with my crossfire. Been pulled over about 3 other times for various things but never a ticket. Like no turn signal uses merging on the highway in 2mph bumper to bumper traffic. Another time I was pulled over for "speeding" but the cop never told me how fast I was going (I don't think he even knew my speed)... he just let me go.

I drive my other car 100+ miles per day. I do 75 in a 65 zone and pass cops taking radar and they never bother me. But the moment I hop in my crossfire and go down the street I get nailed! Don't tell me our cars are not cop magnets!

Ah that stinks! I've gotten one too.. I said I was staying with the flow of traffic and the troopers response was " no sir, you were creating the flow of traffic here's a reckless drivng ticket have a nice day!"

Invest in a radar it has saved me on serveral occasions

Bionic I feel your pain. Check to see if your state has a safe driver school option. If they do you can attend this school and reduce or posibly esponge this ticket from your record. I got a speeding ticket at the Dragon last year and was able to attend a school here in SC ,send in the certificate and with a reduced fine the offence was removed from my record. If you have any other moving violations they will remove 1/2 of those points. Good luck.

They're not, but doing 50 mph over the speed limit in Downtown Nashville certainly is. Bionicdriver I'm assuming you were near/in the inner city loop or on Briley Pakway. Definitely not the place to attempt triple digits.

I do that every day in my jeep and go right past the troopers taking radar... and NEVER get nailed. Every morning they are almost in the same place on the side of the road. They NEVER pull me over. One of these mornings I will drive past the same trooper at the same speed with my crossfire and you will see what happens.

I will say doing 50+ over the limit rules out "cop magnet" in that situation but our cars are cop magnets.

The fact is this.... our cars attract attention. Cops don't mean to single us out but they do because our cars are very different and attract attention.

In Ontario, one would likely lose the car for part of the year for a single offence of that magnitude PLUS an enormous fine. There was a time recently and in an effort to end street racing, when the car could have been crushed at Chief's recommendation and the JPs discretion, but that was repealled. 50+ kilometres over the posted limit is considered STUNT driving. Several of them became ashtrays and garbage cans. Dangerous driving offences may fall under the Criminal Code of Canada and that means that it is a criminal offence that would NEVER be expunged from your record. Never a good thing when applying for a job.

The biggest concern is the gift that keeps on giving (at least for three years) - the insurance costs! There are some companies that will deny you insurance for 3+ speeding tickets. THAT is something you never want to have. If you are denied and an insurance company asks if you have ever been denied - you sure don;t want to lie about it. One may NEVER be able to afford what they'll charge you! How about $13K annually?

Whether I am accurate or not in what I stated above, I know that it just ain't worth it!
