total bs
I24- I40 merger i was merging onto i-40 from i-24 he was on i-40 if u know its a big limestone rock between the merger and thats where he got me i was cruising at 100 to 103
Well, I think reading your post this morning jinxed me......I was just on I-70 cruising along below the speed limit & passed a HP that had someone stopped on the side of the road. As I passed "SHE" turned on her lights & pulled me over......"failure to yield".......I guess it's a law that in that situation you have to actually get over to the next lane....I usually do if it's safe to do so.

Maybe next time you get the urge to feel a rush you will think about what happened to you this time and maybe someones life will be spared. Incidents happen fast when there is a difference of 50 mph between vehicles going in the same direction.
You will not get much sympathy on this forum.
Smarten up.

I must admit....that was the best looking HP officer I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!

I will say doing 50+ over the limit rules out "cop magnet" in that situation but our cars are cop magnets.
The fact is this.... our cars attract attention. Cops don't mean to single us out but they do because our cars are very different and attract attention.

so lets go over what we've learned today,
1. If you want to decrease the likelihood of getting pulled over by the cops don't break the law.
2. My opinion is not the same thing as a fact.
3. Your opinion is not the same thing as a fact.
Now if we need to we can go back to that elementry school that failed you and see if you can get a refund.

I know I pass a sign on I-35 in Kansas all the time that says move over OR slow down. Never heard of anyone actually getting cited for that unless perhaps you were too busy gawking at the Trooper and almost hit her.

Anyone pulling onto the road in front of you assumes that you are doing around the limit and will act accordingly. Spotting the speed of an oncoming vehicles is hard as there is only a second or so to make that judgment.
Sometimes the only way to learn for some people is to get ticketed, get the crap scared out of them or kill or maim someone.
I-24/40 merge is a dangerous spot to do 80 in, let alone 105.
In that section of the city, doing the speed limit can get you killed as it's simply a bottleneck for all drivers, both adept and stupid. When you force 60% of Nashville traffic through a three-lane section at highway speeds, it's a recipe for disaster.
I have been known to act a clown on highways... but generally speaking they're wide-open with light traffic and high visibility.
Gotta pay the piper on this one.

I'm not gonna lie and say I never drive over 100mph BC I do however there is abig difference between getting a blowout at 100+ and at 55mph.. things go bad fast and the speed limit is trying to keep people safe.. not to mention that most people don't signal turns and change lanes/ brake unexpectidly

Reckless driving is exactly that. We do not get to redifine it because we may be proficient drivers in a vehicle built for those speeds.
If you are gonna play, you are gonna pay.
So figure to pay the guys at the track where it is legal to be reckless, and frankly a lot safer for everyone, including yourselves. Or take your chances on the street.
If you chose the latter, that's OK, SORTA. But it ain't OK to complain if you get caught at it.
I've had mine over 150MPH and Crumpys close to 200MPH. Never where I couldn't get a ticket. Road and traffic conditions were excellent for the attempts. But no garranttee that Smokey wouldn't bag a big one. Just lucky I guess
I'm with JHM2K on this one. You chose a bad place. Pay up. No BS about it.
It could have been worse. You could have gotten the ticket driving a minivan.
Ouch!

This ole' cop is holding his tongue on this one. If the officer added the reckless charge to the speeding violation, that is going to hurt. Might want to consider an atty to get the reckless off there...and pay the speeding fine...just a suggestion.
I might add, in IN, you must slow to 45mph or move over for an emergency vehicle on the side of the road...

We all know the when traffic is going to lift on our routes to and from work and at times push it hard just because we're finally free of the traffic jam. I can imagine this being one of those area's were traffic goes from being extremely heavy to non existent in under a mile.
