Default Base model ???

Call me thick or whatever but I keep seeing post's with a mention of "Base model". I obviously didnt do a full research before I bought my xfire.

What is a base model?, how many models are there?

I also hear cup holders mentioned too, I cant find any in mine. Not that I want them. Someone please enlighten me.
I'm loving the car whatever but I do miss my old Z4

Base model is other then silver trim around the windshield and pop up wing.
Limited - Silver winshield trim and pop up wing.
SRT-6 - Silver windshield trim and fixed wing.

Look in the stickies section for production numbers and vin tracker.

Cup holder is pop up enclosure just forward of arm rest bin, give it a push on the front and it pops up. Some have been replaced with small storage slot.

In 04 there was a Crossfire.
In 05 they called the original a Limited and added a Base model which has items deleted, only offered in Black, no silver trim around windshield and black side strakes, no fog lights, black door sills, cloth manual seats, no cupholder only a storage bin, lesser sound system, black engine cover instead of grey, rubber pedal covers, 05's had no TPMS,
Also added the SRT, which is supercharged with 100 more horsepower, only offered with an automatic, a fixed larger wing, a 200 mph speedometer and Alcantra seats, and different wheels.
05 was also the first year the roadster was introduced.
There was also a Special Edition which was basically a base roadster painted red with SRT like wheels.
All beautiful cars in there own right IMHO
That is a crash course, there are more differences but that should give you a general idea.
Enjoy your crossfire I know I still do enjoy mine after almost 6 yrs, and the good people you will meet thru this forum and GTG's is an added bonus

There are some mods you can do for your Naturally Aspirated Crossie.
Look up Needswings for parts, and Eurocharged for tuning as places to start.

Welcome to the club

Your cup holder (1) might have broken and was replaced, it happened a lot.
