Permanently remove cargo divider
Hello everyone, new owner and poster here
I'm a tall fellow and really only barely fit in my 2004. I am wondering if it is possible or suggestible to permanently remove the plastic cargo divider piece behind the seats. I figure it might give me just another inch or two to lean back the seat.
Not sure what is housed under there, having trouble finding an interior diagram anywhere on the net.
Thanks!

The OP said 'plastic piece' and 'lean back the seat', I assume he means the bulkhead cap.
On second thoughts though.
That is an integral part of the cars structure, and it holds the gas tank, do not do anything serious.
This pic shows it through the hatch.

Good information to have! Thanks for the quick replies and manuals/parts link. I will try the knee bolster removal, that sounds very helpful. Thanks again to all!
I'm sure someone can chime in with the correct information.. but seems I read about a seat swap for bigger fellows to gain some comfort room. Base coupe seat? Just an fyi if you don't get the room with the bolsters removed.

Woody cut the seat supports out and gained a bit of clearance.
