crossfire buy
Ok people, my girlfriend wants to buy a 2004 ltd. YES, it is black, just so that you know. Great shape outside, couple of cosmetic problems (rear headliner brackets, driver speaker grille, hood strut, and more as I look deeper). They are asking $11,590 for it. The problem(s) that I see with it are the Blue book value and the cost of repairing it (I will be doing this, pending parts, and I will need your help with part numbers.) Do any of you think that this is financially worth it? From what I have been able price, we're looking at at least $ 1400 in parts alone. Any thoughts, or comments?
automatic trans, 103596 ODO
Ltd coupe
If this means anything, no rear plug behinds the license plate ( how/where would you even get this part?)

I think you should shop around at that price...It has a ton of miles on it and I think there are other vehicles out there with less miles and will be around the price you are looking at with the $1400 in parts...There are plenty of Crossfires out there so just be patient...I saw a SRT6 online that had less miles that car and it was around 10k
The only problem with that is that there are only about eight or nine in this geographic area (Longview/ Northeast Texas), and we're (she) are looking to take home on the spot. I'm trying to get her to slow down on this buy.

Definitely tell her to wait it isn't worth it. I waited a year to find a great deal on a XF. Finally bought a 2005 base model from PA with 48,200 miles on it for $7,600 two weeks ago. Only issues are the one speaker doesnt work, but I upgraded the whole system this weak anyway. The one headlight I need to restore, since its all hazed over and the interior and engine need a nice cleaning. But the car runs perfectly, had the whole car looked at by STS Autobody mechanics for an hour and a half. So long story short, you can find one for a better price and miles, just tell her to wait a little while.

Houston is rich with them and in Dallas FortWorth, these are throw away cars. Bluebook is way down on 2004 and 2005's and you can steal them in much better shape for that kind of money. Keep in mind 8 years or older, 100K miles are Buy here Pay here gravel lot cars. Even if they do say Mercedes on the engne block.
Sorry to all our members here but the Crossy is a well kept secret that has been too well hidden. Great cars and fortunate for those who want to buy one, Cheap.
My suggestion,,,,Go find a good one.
As much as I didn't like their tactics, long story, try Bonham Chrysler in Bonham Tx.
They usually have a large selection of Crossfires.
My bad, just checked, they only have 4 on the lot.

Well, I managed to talk her out of buying this one today. I let her know what I'd found and what you guys had said about the other, better ones in the general area, so I guess that we will be waiting to see if there are any coming up later on.
Thanks for the input guys!
