Phase 1 mods completed
Phase 1 mods completed
Phase one mods are now complete
Thought I'd start with the basics
1st added keyless entry mod - went like a dream - now sounds like my SLK 320 used to sound and all for only £3.00- used Maplins N15CL 12v Piezo Buzzer
I would suggest practicing on a few bits of old wire before you take the plunge on your delicate electronics. I made a set of helping hands out of a block of wood and 2 crocodile clips nailed to it so that I could have both hands free to solder. I went one further on insulating, I heat shrunk the joints then placed another tube over both wires just to tidy it up and prevent chaffing. I tried a couple of locations for the buzzer but the nearest to the SLK tone came by placing it next to the relay.
2nd Mod did the Biggest stereo bang for the buck mod- and what a difference just a bit fiddley doing the soldering.
Phase 2 mods are going to be the LED strip lights on the front headlamps, wired to only be on when the engine is running, great help knowing there are different powered studs near the relays.
May look into putting leds on back lamps, but might get some opinions on this first, thought these may be useful
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
Once again many thanks for the great hints and tips
