Plasti dip is cool.
I see you also did the side strakes and windshield surround. Now do the door handles, and the Chrysler wing logos front and rear, plus the three silver bars in the grille. Mine are all wrapped in matte black vinyl to go with my matte black TSW Donington wheels - looks great on my Aero Blue Roadster and everyone here at work (Meguiar's, so we see all kinds of stuff on a regular basis) loves the look. As one of them said "you bad-assed it!"
Yes, but for it not to be a pain in the *** to peel off (I mean so it comes off in one piece in one pull) make sure you have 3 to 4 coats. The more coats the easier it will be to peel right off. It wont damage the surface that was sprayed at all, it will actually protect it! And its very durable. Road debri wont affect it. Possibly a car wash might peel it up, but it will hold up to a power washer guaranteed
I have a Black '05 Coupe I just got and the black paint is chipping and the rims have a lot of curb rash. I'm almost debating doing the whole car in plasti dip. Anyone ballsy enough to do it before me?
Dooooooo it
We have an actual paint shop on base I can use so I guess I could use their spray guns and let it dry there. Shouldn't take more than a day right?
Your stuck with cans I would think. Since its more of a rubber, I think it would clog a gun really fast without adding water, but then it probably wouldnt bond correctly........ It wouldnt take that long at all. Actually the whole car would be pretty fast. Dont mask off anything and just spray the whole thing as many coats as possible. Since its flat it wont turn out uneven and you can just lift and peel off what gets on the windows or whatever you dont want that color..... if you spray it thick enough.
Yeah, I did too.
YOU DONT NEED THE CANS! Go to dipyourcar.com they have a CARKIT. Comes with a gallon or 2 of paint and a spray gun. It's basically idiot proof if you watch his video of how he does the VW on there. Watch and learn and then order is my best advice. IF you use individual cans you will never get an even coat over the whole car, especially the hood which is the hardest to paint and it will look like complete ****. So pay the extra cash for the car kit to do it right
