Help CF left me stranded...sort of
Long story short. I have not used my CF this week because the tires need replacing (have an appointment at Discount tire in the morning). So tonight I went to put gas and stopped at the store to pick up some things. When I got out of the store the CF would not start. It cranks over fine but does not fire up. This went on for about 10min. Desperate to try anything I re seated the gas cap and tried it again. It fired up. Trying to make my way home the check engine light was on and about 1/2 a mile down the road it stalled. Pulled into the parking lot and same as before it would crank but not start up. I popped the fuse box under the hood thinking maybe a fuse was bad but found nothing obvious. I tried to start the cf again and it fired up. Jumped in and hauled butt home. In my drive way I let it idle for awhile and after a few minutes it stalled and did not restart. Any Ideas?
I changed the oil a few months back and forgot to reset the oil monitor thingy it's blinking 1000 with the wrench could this cause it? I need to bust out the manual for the directions.

Thanks for the reply. I will get searching and get one ordered.
the CPS sensor should fix your problem.
If it cranks over and wont start..... crankshaft position sensor replacement
If it wont crank over...... Relay Control Module fix

Thanks for all the help. Slapped the new CPS in this afternoon. Let the car idle for a good hour or so. Looks like that was my problem. The BAS ESP light is now on along with the Check Engine Light. I pulled the negative in hopes that things will get reset.
Thanks onehundred80 for the detailed step by step.

To reset the BAS light just turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, then all the way to the left. Or just drive the car a bit and it will go out on its own.
I just do 2 U-turns on my street.... I always hated turning my wheels when not moving.
To the OP, glad it got fixed.
Was able to drive 75 miles this morning without incident. Finally got new tires (Cooper RS3-A) and it feels like a completely different car. All warning lights have turned off with the exception of the TPMS. Kinda bummed since I spent the extra cash for the TPMS rebuild kit.

I they took all 4 wheels of at the same time, it is possible they swapped a front or rear left to right when mounting the tires. This will make the TPMS report an error ........
First time I've hear this.. I was pretty much under the impression they were just coded to work with each car and reported the pressure back.. not what position it was.. otherwise would have been fairly easy to integrate a system to tell you which tire is low..???
WOOOO HOOO !!!! Just noticed that I finally made the 1000 club with this post, and I haven't been banned yet.
I bought a spare wheel and had Discount tire INC. mount a tire and thier aftermarket TPM sensor. They work on an off for several weeks trying to get the tmps warning light to go out. The new tire/wheel was on the left front. I finally had to go to Chrysler for a TPS that was special order for two weeks. It fixed the problem. Discount refunded my $ and apologized for not knowing they could re program a Crossfire/Mercedes system to see thier aftermarket piece. Perhaps yor tire shop broke yours and gave you a new replacement.
When I researched this about a year ago before buying my new Hankooks, I found something on the web that described the procedure using the Chrysler shop tool for replacing the sensors. It was wheel specific as to the individual TPMS ID codes .....

Ahh.. I'm witch ya now.. initial setup and programmings probably displays a wheel position and an ID input.. but once past that I don't think "it" cares. As an example my wife's tahoe reports pressures with wheel position. "It" has no clue where the actual sensor is located.. it's not a directional finder.. but it does show LF 26 PSI .. and when you actually check.. it's the LR. and you do have the option to go into it's menu's via dash input to correct.
And I had one fail to report for duty Wednesday after work.. now which one without paying Chrysler a 100 bucks to hook up and tell me.. LOL. We've got a user that scored a set of the "Orange" tpm sensors.. but apparently he's had an issue with a plug and play.. and has had other things come up requiring more attention. I like the price of them.. but the cost of the programmer is what is hard to get past. Plus you would have to have the OEM "ID" to program into the new sensor.. and short of a dealer I have no clue how you could obtain it...
