Kinda why I posted the link to the drive shaft sensor setup.. independent of the cars system. Was just a thought.

for only $200 you can get a GPS sender
Auto Meter

for a autometer cf speedo $233.75 :
AUTOMETER 4789 CARBON FIBER SPEEDOMETER ELEC PROGR on eBay!

That would require NO wiring other than the 12v supply ......

( I'd suggest the http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm at $60.95 which will display digital speed along with 17 other parameters. It will also server as a code reader.
you could wrap that sucker in carbon fiber, if that's what butters your biscuit )

Let's think about this ......

$434 for another speedometer, or $61 for something useful. ( see post #23 )
Gee, I can't decide ........

So I takin my car, 100% working correctly and I sit there for about 5 hours as he attempts to install it, the dash was ripped apart and he was trying to figure out where to wire for the signal, so he quit installing it and then he says your car is ready to go so i pay the ***** $435 in labor then I go out and the car wont even start. So they towed it to the nearesst Chrysler dealer and they said i need a new computer/module/starter because this idiot fried it and will cost $2600 to fix. So I will be calling the owner tomorrow about this situation. He should not have worked on it in the first place but he did i trusted him. so they towed it to the dealer and now its just sitting up there.. I need to have it towed ASAP back to my house for now.

If the owner of the store refuses to fix the problem we will be filing a lawsuit.

Pretty screwed up huh?

Threatened them with a lawsuit so now they are going to fix the car at their expense.

Interesting.

You could put this beside it, right on the top of the dash.

That's good news, however I think your nightmare has really just begun.
Does the dealer even have a trained Crossfire mechanic ? Most don't.

Agreed 100%

Be very selective about where they take it and at a minimum, I would ask them to show you their specialized crossfire toolbox containing all the non-chrysler tools they need to work on your car. Many dealers sold them when the XF started coming off warranty...

It is a beautiful SS toolbox with crossfire on the top.

Problem is solved. They uninstalled the gauge and they found that the O-Ring for the key was somehow damaged so they replaced it no charge. Case closed.

So 450 dollar date to find out "don't do that"? Or did they eat the labor charge and call it a day? Might still be able to integrate the drive shaft sensor into it and get what you want..

No, they refunded me the entire labor charge to put the gauge in so I got refunded $430.00 So out of all this I did not spend a dime except buying the gauge at which I am taking it back to get my money back from that.

It is over, finished I dont want to talk about it anymore.
